After review and consultation with other organisations, the fire ban has been lifted with immediate effect.
The use of fire will remain under review and if it needs to reimplemented due to hot weather, this will be communicated appropriately.
Thank you for your understanding.
๐ฅ Open Fire Ban ๐ซ
Due to the raising temperatures and following guidance from the Met Office, the Scout Association and several other NGOs, we are placing an immediate ban on all open fires at Hesley Wood. This ban will also apply to our event HesFest this weekend.
This includes but is not limited to charcoal/wood fired BBQs, alter fires, and fire pits/drums.
We appreciate that this will come as a disappointment to some groups, however this decision has not been taken lightly and is aimed at keeping all our guests safe.
All groups who were planning on cooking on open fires will need to make alternative arrangements. Gas cookers, gas BBQs and gas griddles are still permitted. Please take extra precautions when using these and ensure they are raised off the ground.
Please stay safe during the heat wave and for further information:
