Lydia had a great time with Y7 at Rushden Academy as part of Mental Health Awareness week.
Students said, ‘I know now it’s okay to struggle but it’s important to speak up.’ ‘I know how to find help for myself and a friend.’
Big thanks to Ethos Lead Mrs. Wilkins and team for another visit this year!

Week 4 of the Boys Course in Outwood Riverside in Middlesbrough this week, looking at Relationships & Consent. We explored our responsibilities as men regarding consent. This is a big topic which really got the lads thinking about their future decisions in terms of relationships.

Lydia had great lessons at athe Samworth Church Academy with Y7 exploring Bullying; what, why and how. Students said they could help others by, ‘being there for them, giving them my attention and being a good friend.’
Staff said, ‘this was amazing, I’ve really enjoyed this!’
A big thank you to Mr. Freeman for having our lesson in school.

🏫 Ellowes Hall Sports College | Year 9 Boys Session
Today, Mikky joined Ethos Lead Alanna Roberts for a powerful session with Year 9 boys at Ellowes Hall Sports College — and it did not disappoint.
The focus? The “R Word” — Respect.

What does it truly mean to respect every person equally, regardless of background or culture?
The young men showed up with maturity and openness, engaging in deep, honest conversations that left both Alanna and Mikky genuinely encouraged. This is exactly why this work matters.

💬 Here’s what the lads had to say:

“We all have equal value and deserve respect.”

“I just want people to treat me how I treat them.”

“We are priceless.”

Words like that don’t come from nowhere — they come from creating safe spaces where young people feel heard, valued and challenged to grow.

“As the boy’s course continues in Outwood Riverside (Eston) in Middlesbrough this past week, AL has been exploring the effects of po*******hy, grooming & exploitation with a group of Year 8’s. With some lively discussion around how these topics impact those around us as well as the individual involved.”

📍 Ellowes Hall Sports College — Boys Course
Mikky was invited back to Ellowes Hall today to sit in and support an internal boys course led by Ethos Lead Alanna Roberts.
The session covered key topics including age of consent, legal drinking age, and what it means to be a man — with Mikky leading a small group through open, honest conversation.
The Year 9 boys left well informed and confident. Alanna shared that “the boys were singing Mikky’s praises” — and Mikky said it was “amazing to work alongside Alanna.”
A huge thank you to Alanna Roberts and Grace Academy Foundation for making sessions like this possible. 🙏

The sun is back in Glasgow! I had a great time with Ross Murray from in Trinity High School today in Rutherglen. We were talking with their S2's about Self Esteem, great engagement from students as we discussed what impacts our self-esteem and how online content can affect how we see ourselves.

Boys Session at Ellowes Hall 💛
Today Mikky delivered a powerful session on toxic masculinity to the Year 10 boys at Ellowes Sports College.
We covered positive role models, breaking down societal norms and expectations, and why it’s unhealthy to hold things in and just “man up.”
The ethos team complimented the level of engagement from the Year 10 boys as they answered questions and navigated a difficult subject with maturity and openness.
The boys walked away today with a clear understanding of the importance of treating people with dignity and respect.
A massive thank you to Ella-Jade for making this all happen. 🙌

📍 Grace Academy Darlaston
Today Mikky spent the day with 206 Year 9 students at Grace Academy Darlaston — and what a day it was.
We tackled two of the most important (and most avoided) conversations young people need to have:

💬 How the relationship we have with ourselves shapes every other relationship in our lives
📱 The hidden ways social media influences our identity, our choices, and our sense of self-worth.

The students were brilliant — asking real questions, staying engaged, and actually listening. That’s not always easy with Year 9s on a full school day! 😄

Here’s what the students took away:
✏️ “Sex is a choice” — understanding consent and personal agency
✏️ “People shouldn’t watch p**n underage” — awareness of the real impact
✏️ “The teaching was detailed” — no watering it down
✏️ “Mikky is entertaining” — because engagement matters
✏️ “We kept listening the whole time” — that says it all

And the teachers agreed:

⭐ “Made a difficult subject really relevant — you engaged the students wonderfully.” — Mrs Welchmore

⭐ “Relevant to the age group, pupils engaged well and asked great questions.” — Mr Pemberton, Head of Faculty

⭐ “Sensitive topic made enjoyable.” — Miss Blake

A huge thank you to Ethos Lead Justine Clarke for making the day possible. 🙏
