Lydia had another great day delivering our Self-Esteem lesson to Y9, this time at Elizabeth Woodville Deanshanger site.
After watching a beauty advert we made here at Respect ME to show toxic beauty, one student said, ‘if we were happy in ourselves then companies like this wouldn’t exist because we’d know we don’t need what they’re selling.’
So good to help our teens see how everyday ads they take for granted are constantly giving them messages about standards of beauty and playing on our insecurities to make a profit. Let’s hope they’ll use these skills to spot the real from the fake from now on and find it easier to know their value.

Dammy and Adam along with Andy Cooley from Christ church were in Audenshaw School today delivering lessons to year 7-10s. It was an impactful day, the young boys had the opportunity to hear how valuable they are in a society that has pressure from all areas but they also left being equipped with information on how to treat themselves and other people around them.

Lydia had a great day of lesson talking all things Self-Esteem with Y9’s at Elizabeth Woodville School in Milton Keynes today.
Students said, ‘I now know not to aim for body types I see in the media. They’re not real and it’s unfair to pitch my self against that.’
Staff said, ‘That was awesome! You really engaged the students and managed their questions so well.’
Lydia is excited to be with Y9’s at their Northampton site tomorrow!

Dammy, Adam, Evy and Ty were at Inscape School delivering a joint lesson on self esteem and positive relationships. It was an alternative provision unit. The kids were so engaged and gave such great answers especially around what to look for in a friendship and what a healthy relationship should look like. The teacher was very nervous about how the young people will receive us and the content but she was very happy and said she was very impressed with the students whilst catering to their needs.

We are really looking forward to going back in.

AL recently concluded the boys course in Outwood Riverside in Middlesbrough, lively discussion as always. Here are some of the pupils key learning points from the six sessions that they wrote down, from learning about the necessity of consent to the power of our words. Great work lads!

Lydia had a great time with Y7 at Rushden Academy as part of Mental Health Awareness week.
Students said, ‘I know now it’s okay to struggle but it’s important to speak up.’ ‘I know how to find help for myself and a friend.’
Big thanks to Ethos Lead Mrs. Wilkins and team for another visit this year!

Week 4 of the Boys Course in Outwood Riverside in Middlesbrough this week, looking at Relationships & Consent. We explored our responsibilities as men regarding consent. This is a big topic which really got the lads thinking about their future decisions in terms of relationships.

Lydia had great lessons at athe Samworth Church Academy with Y7 exploring Bullying; what, why and how. Students said they could help others by, ‘being there for them, giving them my attention and being a good friend.’
Staff said, ‘this was amazing, I’ve really enjoyed this!’
A big thank you to Mr. Freeman for having our lesson in school.

🏫 Ellowes Hall Sports College | Year 9 Boys Session
Today, Mikky joined Ethos Lead Alanna Roberts for a powerful session with Year 9 boys at Ellowes Hall Sports College — and it did not disappoint.
The focus? The “R Word” — Respect.

What does it truly mean to respect every person equally, regardless of background or culture?
The young men showed up with maturity and openness, engaging in deep, honest conversations that left both Alanna and Mikky genuinely encouraged. This is exactly why this work matters.

💬 Here’s what the lads had to say:

“We all have equal value and deserve respect.”

“I just want people to treat me how I treat them.”

“We are priceless.”

Words like that don’t come from nowhere — they come from creating safe spaces where young people feel heard, valued and challenged to grow.
