💚 A little reminder about your clothing donations 💚
First of all, a HUGE thank you to everyone who donates clothing to us. Your donations really do make a difference and help keep our charity shop running, supporting the important work we do. 🫶
But… we need to talk about rag! 😅
We currently have a mountain of clothing that unfortunately isn’t suitable for resale. While we do have a rag collector, it takes our volunteers a considerable amount of time to sort through bags and bags of donations to separate what can be sold from what has reached the end of its wearable life.
So, before donating, please take a moment to ask yourself:
👕 Is this garment clean and in a condition someone could realistically wear?
🧥 Would I be happy to buy this from a charity shop?
🧦 Is it complete, usable and free from significant damage?
If the answer is no, please consider sending it to a textile recycling point or, if you are donating it to us for our rag collection, please clearly mark the bag as “RAG”. ♻️
This saves our volunteers a huge amount of time and means we can spend more time doing what we’re here to do — serving our customers, preparing quality donations for sale and raising money for charity. ❤️
We genuinely appreciate every donation and don’t want to discourage anyone from giving. We’re simply asking everyone to be a little more mindful about what they donate and, where necessary, to label those rags!
