📻 Fancy being on BBC Radio Wales?

BBC Radio Wales is looking for Cubs and Scouts (aged 8–12) to take part in The Big Family Quiz on Robin Morgan’s Sunday afternoon show.

It’s a fun, relaxed quiz where a young person goes head-to-head with a parent, grandparent or another relative to be crowned the family brainbox (with plenty of bragging rights up for grabs!).

There’s no need to travel — it’s all done over the phone or video call.

If you’ve got a budding chatterbox who’d love to take part, they'd love to hear from you.

Beavers and Cubs had a fantastic trip to the National Space Centre, arranged by Scouts! It was a long day, and a 320 mile round trip, but a great jam-packed adventure! 🚀👩‍🚀

We are thankful for our Leaders, Parents and amazing Young People for making opportunities like these possible 💫

🌟 Volunteer leadership opportunities with ScoutsCymru

We’re currently looking for experienced and passionate people to step into three important national volunteer roles:

• Chair of Finance Committee (Treasurer)
• Chair, Yr Hafod Scout Centre Management Committee
• Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead

These roles play a key part in strengthening governance, supporting our volunteers and ensuring young people across Wales continue to gain skills for life through Scouting.

🎨 ABER VALLEY COMMUNITY COUNCIL – LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION 🎨

We’re inviting the community to help create a new logo for Aber Valley Community Council!

Our valley is rich in heritage, history and culture – from the legend of Ifor Bach, to our proud coal mining past, and the creative community that lives here today. We want a logo that reflects the spirit and identity of the Aber Valley.

Theme:
Designs should represent Aber Valley. Ideas could include:
⛰ The valley landscape
⛏ Coal mining and industrial heritage
🏰 The legend of Ifor Bach
🎭 Art, culture and community
🌿 Nature or local landmarks

🎨 Open to everyone – all ages welcome
🏆 £500 prize for the winning design
📅 Entry deadline: July 10th

The winning design may become the official logo of Aber Valley Community Council.

⚠️ The winner will be required to sign a disclaimer allowing the Community Council to use the logo for official purposes.

Rules:
Entries must live or have a distinct tie with the Aber Valley.
Any age is welcome to enter.
The work must be original and not breach copyright or use AI.

We are looking for adult help in our Scout and Cub sections. We run on a Monday evening in Senghenydd Community Centre. We do a range of activities which our adults can also take part in.
