//A top Tory has called on ministers to ‘urgently investigate’ the blocking of hundreds of millions of pounds in pensions owed to British nationals from Hong Kong by banking giant HSBC.

It comes as a human rights group accused the UK-headquartered bank, which makes most of its money in Hong Kong and China, of denying withdrawal applications from people who used indefinite leave to remain (ILR) status to prove they permanently resettled in Britain.

Shadow Foreign Secretary Priti Patel said it had left thousands of people unable to access life savings, was ‘wholly wrong’ and was done to ‘appease Beijing’.//

//‘It is outrageous Hong Kongers who did everything right – who built new lives in Britain, gained settled status, and proved their permanent departure – are still locked out of their retirement savings.

Does anyone know Tsun Hin Leung's next of kin in the UK or in Hong Kong? He passed away at their home address in Salford.😔

有冇人認識 Tsun Hin Leung 嘅英國或香港親友？不幸咁佢已經喺 Salford 家中逝世。😔

| Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace family of a man from Salford.

Tsun Hin Leung, 25 yrs old, sadly passed away at their home address which was an apartment on Frederick Road, Salford on 19/08/2026.

There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Anyone with information about Tsun Hin Leung’s next of kin should contact the Police Coroner’s Office in Bolton on 0161 856 4687.

Action on Warburton Toll Bridge issues:

Many constituents have been in touch with me to raise their experiences about the ongoing issues with Warburton Toll Bridge.

I have now written to Peel, who manage the bridge, to raise my concerns and to ask for a meeting to go through what steps are being taken to rectify the problems.
