A huge shout out and thank you to ABLE Assist Ltd for a second year of incredible support through the loan of their van to SERVE.

We are so lucky, not only do they provide the van free of charge, but they also look after the maintenance and upkeep. How incredible is that 💙❤️💙❤️

This van plays a huge role in helping us attend events, fundraisers and community activities enabling us to connect more with our Community while raising essential funds to support our services.

I’m Anita Harvey, Chair of Trustees for Serve, a brilliant charity based in Rushden that supports older people, adults with disabilities, and their carers across Northamptonshire and North Bedfordshire, supporting them to live independently and combat loneliness.

We are looking for people who might be interested in becoming trustees for our charity. (Trustees are responsible for the strategic direction of the charity; no experience is necessary and training will be given). This is a voluntary role that requires the commitment to attend monthly meetings.
As we are planning on expanding the board, we are looking for people with leadership aspirations or experience from all sectors, in particular, Finance and HR. As a member of the Board of Trustees, you can make a real difference to improving the quality of life for people in our community, whilst also developing your own professional skill set.

Community is built when people come together, celebrate their differences and make space for everyone to belong.

That's why we're proud to support Rushden Pride and to be attending the event this year alongside other local organisations, volunteers and residents.

We're saddened to hear that the event banner has been damaged, but we know that one act of vandalism won't overshadow the positivity, hard work and community spirit that Rushden Pride represents.

At Serve, we see every day the difference that connection, acceptance and inclusion can make. Rushden Pride is a wonderful example of that in action and we look forward to standing alongside Sapphire and the Rushden Community on the day.

We hope you'll join us in supporting Rushden Pride and celebrating everything that makes our community welcoming, diverse and strong.

Wow, what a week! 🎉

Last week we had the pleasure of celebrating National Volunteers' Week with events across Kettering, Higham Ferrers and Wellingborough, and what a fantastic time we had.

It was wonderful to see so many of our volunteers joining us for tea, cake (plenty of it) and lots of great conversation. These events are about more than just celebrating, they're an opportunity to bring people together, strengthen connections, share experiences and recognise the incredible contribution our volunteers make every day.

Our volunteers are the heart of SERVE, and we are so grateful for the time, kindness, commitment and support they give to our community.

A special thank you to our hosts for helping make these celebrations possible: Sir John Brown Court, Ron Manning Day Centre and Greatwell Homes. We truly appreciate your hospitality and support.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the week so special. We loved celebrating with you and hope you enjoy looking back at some of our favourite moments from the week. 💙

A huge thank you to our local supermarkets and coffee shops for their generous donations of cakes and pastries for our volunteer celebration events last week.

Your kindness helped us show our appreciation to our amazing volunteers, who dedicate their time each week to supporting our service users. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment and the support from our local community.
