We believe that learning should be enjoyable and this is reflected in our students’ enthusiasm and commitment. It's reflected in everything they do whether they are learning a new language, conquering a zip wire, or discovering how to make toothpaste! At RHS we provide students with a wide range of different experiences outside the classroom. Our school community is led by students who have others’ interests at heart and who give their own time to run a huge range of clubs and societies, listen to those with a problem or lend a helping hand with school work. Our school motto ‘Ascensiones in corde suo disposuit’ (She has set heights in her heart) is a living reality for our students who leave equipped with outstanding academic qualifications, and a well developed sense of not just who they are, but who (and what) they can be. In short, we strive for (and achieve) academic excellence whilst helping our students to become fully rounded individuals. TERMS OF USE:

Last week our Year 7 students were excited to receive their Book Buzz books, generously funded by our PTA!

Titles included 'Birdie', 'Lessons in Death', 'Cringe Club' and 'A Dog called Hero.' Once they've read their new book, students will write a short review and then be encouraged to borrow a friend's book to read as well! If they read 3 books and write their comments about them, they will be rewarded with 10 house points.

This week we have had special assemblies hosted by some of our students in celebration of Black History month. They created presentations o share information about countries including Jamaica, Zimbabwe and Nigeria, African and Caribbean food, music, hairstyles, historical figures and more! Thank you and well done to all the students who helped present the assemblies!

And today the canteen has created a special menu for Black History month with jollof rice and a Caribbean chicken curry on offer!

The Rotary Young Artist Exhibition is now on! Hosted by The 3 Rotary Clubs of Rugby and on display at St Andrews Church in Rugby. We have several talented students taking part and displaying their work in the senior category.

We're recruiting! Join our school as a Cover Supervisor! The details are:

Salary: £14.64 per hour
Responsible to: Cover Co-ordinator/Business Manager
Start Date: November 2026 (or as soon as possible after)

What does the job involve?

- Supervising a whole class to undertake set work/activities and can include introducing and closing the class.
- Maintaining good order and managing behaviour constructively.
- Promotion of self-control and independence.
- Keep pupils on task as necessary.
- Responding appropriately to questions raised by pupils.
- Collecting any completed work and returning it to the appropriate teacher.

Final update from team Naples. Last night, we savoured the views over Mt. Vesuvius one last time before our final sleep at the wonderful hotel. After breakfast, we checked out and headed back into central Naples to discover the wonders of the archaeological museum and we found actual Caecilius (pictured) himself! This is the image on the front of our Cambridge Latin Course Book 1s and we had now found his actual house and his statue! One final pizza (!) lunch and we are currently making our way to Naples airport for our flight home. We hope everyone has lifelong memories to come home with; the group has been a total joy and I’d like to thank them all for their company. Thanks too to Mrs Das Gupta, Miss Bell and Mrs Williams who joined me (Mr Paterson) and have been stars.

Another jam packed day in the bay of Naples for our students out there! Here's their latest update!

" We started by accompanying our guide Francesco to Herculaneum where the preservation of the ancient Roman buildings and interiors is truly remarkable. Once done, we then enjoyed a pizza lunch half way up the famous mount Vesuvius, which had preserved Herculaneum like a time capsule, before making our way up top to the very summit; we all made it up the 25 minute uphill hike to the summit to savour the spectacular views for miles and miles - you could even see up to the Lazio region where Rome is! We also gazed down at the eery crater. Once we descended, we said a fond farewell to Francesco before exploring the bustling Sorrento and then enjoying an amazing gelato making and tasting with Mario ‘David’ who is quite the character! He had us all laughing and cheering as we made the most delicious gelato. We are currently enjoying a farewell supper which actually doesn’t involve pizza!"

And it has been another amazing day in the Bay of Naples for our students! Here's the latest news!

"We began by visiting a local farm near Sorrento where we met the animals and watched how they make their mozzarella cheese. Following this they explained to us how to make pizza and we made our own delicious pizzas in their wood-fired oven before hungrily devouring them! Once done, we headed over to Pompeii to explore the town and we found Caecilius’ house! We finished by going through the 5D museum learning more about what life was like in 79AD before the eruption in mount Vesuvius. Back to the hotel now where tonight we will explore the town of Vico Equense!"
