As you may know, our Scout hut and the surrounding grounds are entirely maintained by volunteers, and this support is becoming more important than ever. Over the past 12 months, we’ve seen a significant increase in energy costs, licence fees, and general running expenses. We’ve worked hard to keep subs at the same level for several years, but to continue doing so, we really need some extra hands.
We’re reaching out to ask whether any parents, carers, or family members might be able to spare a small amount of time or share any relevant skills to help us maintain the building and grounds. Even an hour or two can make a huge difference.
Some of the tasks we’re looking for help with include:
- Checking and maintaining the health and safety of the trees around the site
- Supporting the re‑build of the fire pit area
- General landscaping and outdoor upkeep
You don’t need to be an expert—any help, big or small, would be greatly appreciated. By volunteering, you’ll be helping us keep running costs manageable and avoid increasing the subs for our young people.
