In The Round Theatre

23/10/2026

We quickly managed to get a pic in the wind and rain! Daisy and I are at the National Theatre taking in a series of workshops on directing as part of their National Theatre Connections programme. More news coming soon!

From January next year, Darren will be stepping back from In the Round Theatre.

Over the last 6 years Darren has volunteered his time, to work with me, to build and run this little youth theatre of ours - and it hasn’t always been easy to juggle family and work commitments along with running In the Round Theatre. It takes a lot of time, which Darren gave in abundance, as well as a lot of heart.

He always brought his creative talent and his kindness to every session and every show. But most of all it was his fun! Bags of if!

But don’t worry, in the Round Theatre isn’t going anywhere. I’ll continue to run In the Round Theatre and with the help of Daisy, we’re both really excited about our plans for 2027 and beyond - announcements coming soon.

We know the kids will miss Darren, and I will definitely miss him. We know Darren will always be there, supporting us all and cheering us on from the wings.

Darren, what a great thing to have done - to have created a youth theatre in Rugby. Thank you sir. I know we will continue to be life long friends. Take a well deserved bow.

Big shout out to Really Awesome Coffee - Rugby…

The whole gang came to see Rob and Darren perform in Rugby Theatre’s Much a do About Nothing last night. For many of them, this will have been the first time they have seen Darren and Rob on stage - so it was a real delight.

But this wouldn’t have been possible without the generous donation from Really Awesome Coffee Rugby who paid for all of the tickets for the kids - not because they wanted any publicity, but because they genuinely care about giving kids access to the arts. We can’t thank you enough.
