🎣It’s all a bit Fishy!

Clients on our Mansfield projects recently took a fishing trip to a local spot with their Support Workers and spent the day learning how to set up and use the equipment, basic casting techniques and the art of patience!

We think you will see from the photos that it paid off and with a picnic lunch, this was the perfect setting for learning new skills and encouraging mindfulness, calm and mental wellbeing.

All agreed it was a great day and return trips are definitely back on the agenda!

botanical_moonlightco have been very busy with our client engagement sessions during the month of May and have been indulging in a spot of reupholstery, stencilling their own tote bags and other arts and crafts.

Take a look at the beautiful tiny ponds they have created in large planter pots – ideal for small outdoor spaces!

🤩We would like to congratulate our General Housing Manager, Angela for successfully completing her Level 4 Certificate in Housing (CIH).

The qualification provides a structured learning pathway to develop skills in housing law, policy, customer service, leadership, and strategic management.

Looking after the housing side of our business is no small task, and Angela always leads with professionalism, knowledge and care.

🏠Her role involves overseeing complex housing matters including complaints, tenancy management and any necessary legal action whilst also supporting a team of 6 Housing Officers, so her commitment to studying and completing this qualification is an incredible achievement.

As you can see, she is certainly a ‘highflyer’ and we had no doubt she could do it!

💙As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, Action Housing have been promoting and spreading awareness to our clients of the organisations and support available to them.

One such organisation is Samaritans and we have displayed banners at some of our buildings, as well as distributing flyers and info containing the free number 116 123 to call if they are ever in need of someone to talk to.

🎨Celebrating World Art Day at Action Housing – 15th April

As part of our Client Engagement Support sessions, botanical_moonlightco did some arts and crafts classes across our properties, which were hugely popular!

🎨Mindful Scrapbook Making - ROTHERHAM
🎨Water Colour Art - DERBY
🎨Decopauge Frames - Upcycling - MANSFIELD
🎨Botanical Soap Making - DERBY
🎨Moss Art Frames - MANSFIELD

💙These sessions are designed to help alleviate boredom and improve mental health and wellbeing. The clients are encouraged to try them all and can make their own suggestions as to what they have a go at next! We have found these sessions to be very successful and without realising it, clients are engaging with staff, learning new skills and bonding with others.

✂️Arts and craft materials are available at all sites for clients who wish to do something outside of timetabled classes and we are always on the lookout for donations of crafty items for our projects.

🙏We would also be keen to hear from you if you can volunteer to teach a craft!
