Byrne Avenue Baths, Rock Ferry is open as a sports and community hub.

The Old Laundry Community Room is available to hire for parties, workshop and events and the Slipper Baths Cafe is open whenever the building is open. When Byrne Avenue Swimming and Sports Centre closed down in 2009 it was being extensively used by local Rock Ferry Residents and the wider Wirral Community. There was such extensive support for the Centre that a group of Wirral people decided to campaign for its reopening.

Are you having a seasonal clear out? Do you have coats that no longer fit?

If you have any outerwear in good condition that you can donate, please consider our coat rail at Byrne Avenue. We support our community by offering coats for those in need to take, no questions asked. However, we do appreciate any voluntary donations where possible.

With colder and more inclement weather approaching we wish to help as many as we can.

Do you work in a role preparing food? Would you like to earn a qualification to help support your employment?

Here at Byrne Avenue we are offering a FREE Food Safety in Catering Level 2 course. Course dates are Friday 20th November and Friday 27th November 2026, 9.30am-2.30pm. Both dates must be attended to gain the certification.

Attendees live in a L or CH postcode and must have income less than £37,000 per year. Attendees must be 19 years of age or older at the time of the course.

The days are tumbling away..........can you help us find some cheer?

We are getting ever closer to the end of our Crowdfunder campaign for the new heating system, and are within touching distance of raising a quarter of the money needed.

Are you currently living with cancer or have been cancer free for up to three years? Do you need holistic support in a discreet setting?

Our new More to Me (than the Big C) group started on the 6th October and was well attended. Whether its a brew and natter you need, or you wish to participate in activities at a pace you decide, please come and visit. It is a holistic, non clinical group designed with individualised support in mind.

The group is running again tomorrow, please come and join us. We look forward to welcoming you there.

From all of us here at Byrne Avenue Baths, Birkenhead Comets Cheer and Wirral Trampoline Club we wish to thank Asda for this funding. This award gets us a long way towards the funds needed to install the much needed energy efficient heating system for the sports hall. Keeping the sports hall warm not only ensures the comfort of all our children, adults and coaches, but by helping maintain a consistent temperature, also helps prevent injury and ill health.

The installation of this heating is vital in so many ways; from helping us keep the our Cheer and Trampoline groups warm and safe, to helping Byrne Avenue heat an extensive heritage building in an environmentally conscious and sustainable way, long in to the future.

What's on for the week ahead at Byrne Avenue?

We have More to Me (than the Big C) on Tuesday at 6pm, Crafty Girls 2pm and Making Music at 4pm on Wednesday. Our Man Cave is open 1pm on Thursday.

The shop is open 3-7pm Tuesday and Thursday, Saturday 10am-12pm.

We also have the Car Boot on Sunday, please come along, entry is 50p for buyers. We will have the kettle on a rolling boil and the bacon butties ready to fill you up.

Happy Halloween to all of our fangtastic Volunteers, Staff and Trustees. Your hard work supporting the people who come to Byrne Avenue is the beating heart of our community. Whether its a few hours in Sherlock's, making a wicked brew in the cafe, selling our spooktacular offers in the shop, Man Cave, running our activity clubs or Birkenhead Comets Cheer and Wirral Trampoline Club, you are all amazing.
