💛Volunteers’ Week 2026 💛

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible people who make The Hygiene Bank Medway possible.

Every donation collected, every hygiene pack sorted, every community partner supported, and every person helped is thanks to our team of local volunteers who generously give their time to support others across Medway.

We are 100% volunteer-led, powered by people who care about their local community and believe that nobody should have to go without the hygiene essentials many of us take for granted.

To every member of our volunteer team – thank you. Your compassion, commitment and dedication make a real difference every single day.

We honestly have the most incredible supporters here in Medway 🙌🔥

Recently, a special offer on 6-packs of Carex hand soap appeared on our Amazon Wishlist, so we put out a quick appeal asking if people might consider purchasing a pack to support our project. The response from our community was amazing.

In just a short space of time, our supporters sent us an incredible 252 bottles of hand soap — generosity that will make a real difference to the individuals and families we support across Medway.

At a time where the world can often feel full of doom and gloom, moments like this are a powerful reminder that there are still so many kind people willing to step up and help others — many of whom are complete strangers to the people they are supporting.
Every donation we receive helps us continue providing essential hygiene products to local people facing hygiene poverty, and support like this has a huge impact on both our work and the lives of those we help.

Safe to say… we are now VERY well stocked on hand soap 😂🤔🤪 But we are still in urgent need of items such as shower gel and there are lots of products available on our Amazon Wishlist. It’s one of the quickest and easiest ways to donate and helps us get support out to local people faster.

We’re so proud to work alongside Bligh Primary School and their fantastic team, who run a food pantry supporting their students and families across the wider Strood West community.

Through their pantry, they’re helping ensure that essential items — including hygiene products — are available to those who need them most.

The team at Bligh shared:
“The Bligh Food Pantry proudly supports families both within the school and across the wider Strood West community, helping to ensure that essential items are available to those who need them most… Without this support, many families facing hardship would struggle to access these basic items and may have to go without.”

Together, we’re helping provide toiletries, laundry detergent, nappies and other everyday essentials — strengthening support around local families with care and compassion.

We’re so grateful to be part of this partnership and to see the difference their work is making in the community. 💫
