Home-Start Medway

Home-Start Medway Home-Start Medway provides non-judgemental support to families in Medway who have children under 5.

We do this by recruiting and training volunteers who have been parents themselves. The volunteers visit the families once a week, support is tailored to the family’s needs. The families are referred to us, either by a professional working with the family or by the families themselves. We are a registered charity and play an active part in Medway’s voluntary and community sector. We operate across

Medway and cover Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester and the surrounding areas. We have a central office where our team is based and where we run most of our volunteer training from.

πŸ’™ Support for Medway residents facing financial hardship

If you’re struggling after an unexpected financial shock, the Crisis and Resilience Fund may be able to help. Funded by government and delivered by Medway Council, the fund offers short‑term support to overcome the initial crisis and then help with getting back on track.

βœ… Help with unexpected expenses
βœ… Support after a sudden drop in income
βœ… Assistance if finances are putting your home or wellbeing at risk

The support available has four elements:
πŸ’· Crisis Payments – short-term help in emergencies
🏠 Housing Payments – support with housing costs to help prevent homelessness
πŸ“Š Resilience Services – helping residents mange money more effectively to reduce the risk of future crises
🀝 Community Support – connecting residents with local practical and preventative support
