🥰Every day, the Bike Park looks a little different. Just look at this view from today’s dog walk!

It’s amazing to see the progress from different angles and to think how much work has already gone into getting us to this stage. Every walk past the site is a reminder that something special is taking shape for our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support, volunteer, share updates and cheer the project on. We’re getting closer every day. 🚲💙

Today, we welcomed Rishi Sunak to the bike park site to see the progress being made and hear more about the plans for the completed bike park.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who represented the project so brilliantly, sharing their passion for the bike park, the journey so far, and the difference it will make to our community. You did us proud.

It was also great to spend time with the VeloSolutions team and showcase both the progress on site and the exciting vision for the finished bike park.

Every volunteer, supporter and partner is helping turn this community dream into a reality. 💚🚲

I’m a keen mountain biker, husband and dad who loves music, the outdoors and spending time on two wheels.

Whether I’m out riding local trails or enjoying time outside with family and friends, being on my bike is always where I’m happiest.

MONDAY 25TH MAY 🧡🚲

Join Richmond Bike Park for the Richmond Meet bike parade and help us celebrate an incredible year of progress, community support and volunteering.

📍 Meet at Nuns Close

🧡 Wear as much orange as you can

The parade is all about coming together as a community and showing support for the future of Richmond Bike Park. Whether you’ve volunteered, followed the journey online, supported events or just love seeing more opportunities for local riders — we’d love to see you there.

The first 50 people to join us will receive an official Richmond Bike Park race number featuring our logo 🙌

One race number will then be chosen at random, with the winner taking home a grey Richmond Bike Park hoodie 👀

All you have to do is join us in the parade!

🚲 MEET THE VOLUNTEERS 🚲

I’m Phill 👋🏻

A BIT ABOUT ME…

I’m not really a cyclist, although I did race for the Army as an apprentice. I didn’t ride a bike again until my wife came home one day and announced she’d entered a triathlon… despite never having ridden a bike in her life.

That turned out to be a life-changing moment.

Now we enjoy annual cycling holidays, mainly in Holland, and I spend time at bike parks riding the blue trails or heading out on gravel rides.

I also run the Richmondshire Community Bicycle Services CIC, recycling unwanted bikes and helping make them available to disadvantaged members of the local community.

Richmond needs a safe place for people of all ages to learn cycling skills, build confidence, and improve.

GETTING INVOLVED…

I’ve helped with some of the maps for the project and helped take down the drystone wall ready for the new gate in the north-west corner.

Once the tracks are in place, I’ll also be working on the maps again.

🚲 Big update from Richmond Bike Park 🧡

Today was the first day that the team from Velosolutions have been on site — and they’ve already achieved loads.

Seeing the work properly begin is incredibly exciting for everyone involved, and this is only the start 👊

We’ve got lots more updates, photos and behind-the-scenes progress to share over the coming weeks, so keep following along with us as Richmond Bike Park starts to take shape.

‼️ Have you seen who arrived today? 🚧

Today is a massive day for the Richmond Bike Park project. 🚜

The team from VeloSolutions have officially arrived on site to begin building the bike park trails.

After months of planning, fundraising, meetings, volunteer work and community support, seeing work finally starting on the ground is a huge milestone for everybody involved.

This project has always been about creating a safe, welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities to ride, build confidence, stay active and connect with others — and today feels like the beginning of something really special for Richmond.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the project so far. We cannot wait to take you along on the journey as the trails begin to take shape. 💜🧡

Big things are happening at Richmond Bike Park 🚲🔥

Today, we kicked off the top access path with an incredible team of volunteers from Cummins, even one who travelled all the way from Richmond, London! This is a massive step forward, and we can’t wait to see the park grow. Bring on the next stage!
