Today, members of Renfrew Town Sea Scout Group were delighted to support the Renfrewshire Provost at the annual casting of the nets on the River Clyde, marking Renfrew’s historic fishing rights.
It was a real privilege for our Group and volunteers to be part of such a unique local tradition and to help keep a piece of Renfrew’s history alive for future generations. 🌊⚓️
Renfrew’s fishing rights on the Clyde date back centuries, and it’s fantastic to see this tradition continuing today — with our volunteers right at the heart of it!
We even got the Provost helming our boat Frea!
A massive shout out to the Volunteers from Greenock and District who supported us with the use of their boats and kit.
A big thank you to everyone involved for allowing us to play our part in this special Renfrew tradition.
