A lovely walk today to really take a look at what has evolved naturally at the pond. This was the only photo we took. Its lovely to catch up with our council workers to put everyones observations together.
We have noticed a new runway appearing that leads straight throught the orchard from opposite the school straight into a secluded area opposite the astro. This area was consistently being used by a few discreet vapors over the summer months but it seems like it has become more popular now and others may be ruining it for those rebels that knew how to not get caught and be respectful at the same time.
FIRES we seem to have a few areas around the whole site with scorched ground and attempts to set fire to wildlife housing in the woods. We dont believe this is every youth that uses the space but we do believe they have one or two idiots within their circles that will eventually put them all in danger or trouble. Please chat to you kids about how quickly these things get out of hand. Someone told me they had noticed scorch marks on the astro last week 😳. Why would they break that ? If anyone does know who this is with the fires then please do make contact with services that can help them work on whatever they are going through to feel the need to do this. As a community we dont only have a responsibility to safeguard our spaces by reporting things to the police , but we also have a safeguarding responsibility to utilise other services to ensure our vulnerable community members also get the help they need to thrive.
Over the last few weeks the hedges seem to have taken more and more of a battering. They are living breathing trees that should be flourishing not collapsed. They can not be replaced like fencing. They are and always have been growing on site and laying them meant they could live on with health and continue to grow for many more years. Thinning out the canopy without losing the life , freeing up and creating new habitats for wild life. Hedgehogs , toads , frogs and today I found out a woodpecker have moved into the area.
There are thriving areas of hedging and new plants appearing. A bee hive tree stump made by nature. Fruits and bedding , shelter and safety all being created by nature itself once we gave it the environment to do so. Abit like our community. If nature can see opportunity for growth and not resist what is growth and a balanced thriving future then so can we. If we create an environment that works alongside our space with respect then it will repay us with abundance and community safety.
