At Redditch Pride we want our trans community to know this clearly;
You are loved, valued, welcome, and part of our community. Always.
Recent EHRC policy discussions and guidance have caused real hurt, fear, and uncertainty for many trans people across the UK. We know many are exhausted by constantly being debated, scrutinised, or treated like a political talking point instead of human beings deserving dignity and respect.
We do not agree with policies or rhetoric that make trans people feel unsafe, excluded, or less worthy of public life.
Pride began because LGBTQ+ people stood together, especially when parts of society wanted them pushed aside. That solidarity still matters now.
To our trans friends, family, volunteers, performers and attendees: Redditch Pride stands with you. You belong here, and we will continue working to create spaces where everyone can feel safe, respected, and celebrated for who they are.
And for us, this is not just a one-day event.
After Pride, one of our biggest focuses will be building lasting support within Redditch โ creating hubs, networks, safe spaces, community events, and stronger partnerships for LGBTQ+ people all year round. We want people to know there is community here long after the stages come down and the flags are packed away. ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ๐ฉต๐ฉท๐ค
