Trustees come from all walks of life. Could you be next?

Lots of people assume charity boards are only for lawyers, solicitors and CEOs. Ours isn’t.

We’re looking for new trustees at YMCA Worcestershire. No board experience needed. We want people with drive, passion and commitment, and skills that can make a real difference to young people and communities across the county.

Demand for our services keeps growing, especially among vulnerable young people and those hit hardest by today’s challenges. As a trustee, you’ll help decide where we go next.

We’d love to hear from people of every age, background, culture and life experience, especially if you know the communities we work with first-hand. We’ll give you support and guidance as you settle in.

During the First World War, over 40,000 YMCA volunteers left their homes and families to follow the troops and support them wherever they were needed. Many never came home, lost to injury or illness.

This week, and every week thereafter, we remember them, and all those who served. 🌹

Having a parent in prison can impact a child’s life in many ways, from their education and mental health to the stigma that often comes with incarceration. The Bridge Family Project is here to support families by creating opportunities for meaningful family time, and offer adult education to help strengthen relationships and build brighter futures together.

Here is some recent feedback from someone engaging with the BFP service:
"I want to say a massive thank you for everything you have done regarding [my daughter]. You have done an absolutely brilliant job. If I'm being perfectly honest, you deserve an award for everything you have done for me and also the other lads in here.

I remember when I first started engaging with you - I had really low self-esteem, and no one, regarding [my daughter] and I never had any motivation what so ever. Now, I am full of hope, motivation and am also proud of myself for how far I have come, and that is all down to you and your wonderful team.

You all deserve a pat on the back for the positive energy and attitude you pass on to the lads. If I'm being perfectly honest with you, I don't know where I would be without the help and support you have provided.

Thank you so very much for making me believe that I am a brilliant Dad even when things weren't so good. I really can't thank you enough."

Out in the cold, nowhere to call home. Young people facing homelessness in your area urgently need help. As the nights draw in, we urgently need your support to get young people out of the cold, and into a place at YMCA, so we can break the cycle of homelessness.

YMCA Worcestershire offers support to young people that is tailored to their individual needs. This is why YMCA is so unique—it’s a full package of support for young people. That’s why we ask for £12 a month. From the moment they arrive, they’re taken care of. This is made possible with donations from RoomSponsors.
