1st Redditch Boys' & Girls' Brigade

Boys' & Girls' Brigade are multi-denominational Christian Uniformed Groups In addition to our company nights we have an annual holiday and weekends away.

1st Redditch Boys' & Girls' Brigades are affiliated to the Bridge Church, Headless Cross, Redditch - www.thebridgeredditch.co.uk

The 1st Redditch Girls' Brigade is part of the Stour Valley District which means that the girls have the opportunity to join with other girls throughout the Midlands in activity days. The 1st Redditch Boys' Brigade is part of the Worcester Battalion and similarly to the

GB District the boys have the opportunity to take part in activity days and competitions with other boys from the battalion. Girls' Brigade meet on Tuesday evening during term time & Boys' Brigade meet on Friday evenings during term time. Our aim on company nights is to make a positive contribution to the lives of the young people who attend. We run programmes that are balanced to provide all children and young people with opportunities to take part in a wide range of activities, learn new skills and develop existing skills. Come and see what fun, exciting, and safe things we get up to.

Great evening with our n:vestigate & n:gage groups celebrating World Book Day, with a cosy book corner, word searches, book markers and mask making.

For our first week back of the term, our Anchors and Company lads got creative with food making marshmallow robots and brownies with butterscotch sauce respectively, a great effort by both. Whilst our Juniors got a bit more biblical having a prodigal son themed night.

Join us for the 1st Redditch Brigades Family Fundraising Quiz Night on Saturday 24th January at 7pm at The Bridge Church Community Hall.

Girls' Brigade enjoyed their Christmas party night at Ten Pin, Redditch last week. We all had a fantastic time bowling.

Please all join us this Tuesday for the 1st Redditch Brigades Christingle Service on Tuesday 16th December 7pm at The Bridge Church. Everyone welcome.

Come and experience the magic of the nativity story at The Bridge on Christmas Eve at 3pm. We warmly invite you to join us as we gather to celebrate and tell the birth of Jesus with carols, and a real life baby Jesus.

Younger children are welcome to come dressed as an animal or person such as a shepherd, angel, donkey or king. Don't worry if they do not have a costume, we will have outfits ready to use when they arrive. Adults come in your favourite Christmas jumper! It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together and remember the true meaning of Christmas

1st Redditch Girls' Brigade will be running the chocolate tombola stall at The Bridge Church Christmas Street Market on Saturday 29th November. We are in need of chocolate donations of any form. If you have a donation please bring to GB on Tuesday evening or bring to The Bridge Charity shop on Thursday or Friday. Alternatively contact Tracey Gration - [email protected]. Thank you.

Our Company section visited the land of OZ tonight with a I'm a Celebrity themed programme with some gruesome dishes and bush tucker trials !

At Girls' Brigade on Tuesday evening we celebrated bonfire night. We did not let the rain put us off. We managed to get outside under cover and have sparklers. We may not have been able to toast our marshmallows over the fire but we made great use of the kitchen hob instead.
We enjoyed games, quizzes and hot dogs too!

On Tuesday the GB members, leaders and The Bridge Church joined forces to make Teams4U shoe boxes. We filled 84 boxes, a fabulous achievement. Well done everyone.

1st Redditch Brigades enjoyed a fantastic day at Chester Zoo on Saturday. The weather stayed dry and we enjoyed seeing and interacting with all the animals. The penguins and giraffe's were a particular favorite.
Great to learn more about the animals and the important conservation work that the zoo does.
