It’s now been over a month since the Caribbean was hit by hurricane Melissa, devastating the island of Jamaica and Cuba, leaving thousands of families and communities without shelter, food, clean water, and basic necessities. Many communities are now facing severe shortages, and immediate assistance is critical to prevent further hardship.
WACA are kindly requesting the support from local businesses (and individuals), in the form of donations, whether it be non-perishable food items, bottled water, hygiene products, or other essential supplies. Your contribution will directly aid those in urgent need and demonstrate the incredible power of community solidarity during times of crisis.

All donations can be dropped off at Jamaica Wa Gwan Caribbean restaurant/takeaway, 29-31 Lowesmoor, Worcester..

Thank you for your generosity!

Thank you to all members of the community who came to support us at the Our Cultural Heritage event yesterday. Though the numbers were low, we all had a great time listening to the poems, live music and even watching the martial arts display outside!

Creating memories and collaborating is what it’s about!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 photo credit to Tomasz Wisniewski 👍🏾

Hi everyone,

We just wanted to share our Chairperson’s thoughts with you all about the Worcester Show.

“Sunday at the Worcester Show such a successful day in more ways than one.
Our new members and old came together to make it a memorable occasion. Sunday proved that if we work together (Community and all!) it's amazing what we can achieve.

Moving forwards we all must remember that the young people have so much to offer and it is up to us the older generation to guide and nutrition them.

My many thanks goes to Sophue and her daughters for their tenacity, support and their commitment. Thanks to the older members too for their continious support. Patrick and Lisa for their organisational skills.
Looking forward to next year and the growth of WACA.❤️❤️❤️”

As mentioned during our Windrush day "party in the Park" celebrations, our friends at Worcester Black Cultural Association have asked if we could help promote the Benjamin Zephaniah Poetry competition to our community and friends. The competition has been extended to all children in year's 3, 4, 5 and 6!

The deadline for entry has also been extended to Friday 26th September 2025, giving teachers, parents and grand-parents enough time to get budding poets involved.

Enter, as an individual or as a member of your school... either way is great!

Good Luck!
