Good morning followers and a happy Emancipation day to you all! Yes today is a day that is celebrated by many of the Caribbean islands for the liberation from colonial slavery. In truth… this day should not be forgotten, as it is a reminder of cruelty suffered by many…..but also of the bravery of those that stood up and said β€œEnough of this madness!”.

We thought we would let you know which countries were Emancipated:

Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, as well as Dominica and Grenada, Guyana, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, and the British Virgin Islands.

Most of these countries entered a "multi year" apprenticeship, keeping the people enslaved for year after, but Antigua, Trinidad and Bermuda freed their people immediately.πŸ‘πŸΎ

To think that this was nearly 200 years ago...just a small drop in time!πŸ₯²

Good afternoon everyone,
what beautiful weather we are having....I hope you all are enjoying it while you can and staying hydrated!

We would like the Worcester community to join WACA in celebrating a very happy Independence day to The Bahamas πŸ‡§πŸ‡Έ!!! With a population of approx 404,000, The Bahamas covers an area of about 5,358 square miles (13,878 sq km). It is made up of roughly 700 islands spread across 180,000 square miles of ocean space. By comparison it is about 18 times smaller than the UK!

After such a successful end to June with the Party in the Park, We wanted to thank everyone who took the time to turn up and enjoy the day.

We have loads of pictures of the day, so what we are going to do is release some each weekend (over a period of time), as we feel that to bombard everyone with too much info......Enjoy!

May I take the time to thank all members of the community that came to Cripplegate Park (Worcester) to help our Afro Caribbean community bring an end to our Windrush Celebrations.

I was totally blown away by the turnout, the beautiful atmosphere we had and the energy that you all brought to our little event. Apologies for now but I was too busy ensuring everyone was enjoying themselves to actually take any photos, but we did manage get a few and we had a professional photographer there so we will be posting once he as sorted them out.

May I also thank the performers
