*** PROGRESS UPDATE ***
Work is now well under way at the Scout Hut

Ceilings all painted

All lights have been changed to more up to date and safer LED lights.

New flooring has been laid throughout and look fantastic.

Decorating is well underway, only 3 more areas to finish

Damaged furniture has now been removed and new tables and storage shelves have been ordered.

New doors have been ordered and will be fitted by the end of June

Its all going to plan at the moment and we are hoping to be back enjoying our fresh looking building by the end of July.

The final bits and pieces that we will be looking to purchase are some lower tables for the younger members, colorful roller blinds, bean bags and other soft furnishings for a quieter area.

We are also looking for someone who may be able to offer to clean all the windows inside and out and also someone to empty the gutters.

If you would like to, or know of anyone or any businesses that would like to donate anything please see the link below or get in touch.

Thanks to everyone that has helped or donated and supported us so far.

We will be back in the building soon.

Our Squirrels and Beavers had an absolutely awesome visit to HART NHS Station at Great Notley! We cannot thank the team there enough for the way they engaged and demonstrated some of the equipment, and told us about their jobs. Squirrels and Beavers even got to try some of the specialised equipment and sit in a number of their cool vehicles. Special thanks to Mark and his team!!

Ticked off part of the Local Suoerhero Badge and definitely inspired some HART Paramedics of the future. ❤️

Our youngest section Squirrels (aged 4-6) had an awesome day yesterday at joining 180 other Squirrels from across the county, trying all sorts of new adventures including caving, go karting, zip lining, assault courses, age appropriate archery, axe throwing, and crossbows, arts and crafts, and bouncy castles. The day was rounded off with the traditional campfire and songs!!

All squirrels achieved their 'All About Adventure' badges. What an experience for them! Great job Squirrels!! 🐿️ 🙌

Thanks to all involved with the organisation and activities such a fantastic opportunity for our young people.

Exciting news.
The builders are due to start work at the Scout Hut next week.

We have some old metal cabinets that we need to dispose of. Is there anyone that is able to do this for us. There are approximately 7 large metal cabinets and a metal filing cabinet that need to go.

Please get in touch if you are able to help in anynway.

Thank you

🚨🚨 UPDATE 🚨🚨

We are thrilled to share some updates in the recovery of our Scout HQ. Following the successful drying-out of the building, things are now moving quickly:

Construction Starting Soon: Our insurance company has officially appointed a builder. We expect them to start work very shortly, with the goal of having the building ready for decorating by the May half term. We may need some help / volunteers for the decorating over half term.

Grand Reopening: Once all the repairs and fresh decorating are finished, we will be hosting a Grand Reopening to celebrate getting back into our home. Stay tuned for that date!

Funding the "Extra Bits": While insurance covers the main repairs, we are still raising funds to upgrade and renew smaller items that aren’t covered. These "extra bits" will ensure the HQ is better than ever when we return.

A Huge Thank You: We are incredibly grateful for the donations received so far from everyone including local businesses and freinds. A special mention and a massive Thank You goes to the Braintree Lions and the “Friend of Braintree Scouts”, member for their very generous contributions that have given our fund a huge boost.

We Need You!: To get the group back up and running at full capacity in our newly decorated building, we are looking for new volunteers. If you can help us lead activities, assist with camps, or simply help build our youngsters' confidence, we would love to hear from you.

Thank you for standing by us—we can't wait to see everyone back at the Scout hut
