On National volunteering week we would like to thank all our volunteers and Thanks to a very special group who helped us this week .
The Explorer Scouts from Crawshawbooth, who attended a volunteering session in the Old Fold Garden, by Asda Rawtenstall
Jill (a volunteer who helps to looks after this very special garden) welcomed them and set them the task of scraping out all the weeds, grass and moss from between the paving stones.
This was not an insignificant task, it covered a huge area. The challenge did not in any way overwhelm them, on the contrary they worked extremely hard and did an excellent job.
You couldn’t have asked for a nicer group of young people, they worked so well together and had fun in the process.
At the end of the session they enjoyed fruit juice, crisps and a biscuits all kindly donated by Tesco.
The garden looked stunning before the work commenced; it looked even better at the end of the session.
A huge thanks to all the scouts who came to help and to Lynn Smith for organising this .
