Preston Swing Lindy Hop Community Preston Swing is a group of friendly people who meet Wednesdays 7 - 9 to practice Lindy Hop. We meet on Wednesday evenings between 7pm and 9pm.

Everyone is welcome to join us. It may be that you have some experience with a different style of dance or you may be a complete new recruit to the world of dance. Whatever your background, you'll find a warm welcome. Lindy Hop is a fun, informal African-American dance beginning in 1930s America and continuing to this day. It arrived in the UK during the second world war. There are some simple ste

ps and basic principles which make the dance work, but it allows for lots of creativity and playfulness too.

Some of us will be there that weekend so it would be fantastic if you are able to join us for some of it even if you can't make the whole weekend.

After the first week, over half of Nils & Bianca's classes have gone, along with over a quarter of our party capacity. For those asking about socials only and single parties, these may be available nearer the time, but priority is currently being reserved for those booking classes.

Thank you to everyone who came out to dance with us last night. I DID manage to get up (not quite at 6 but not too long afterwards) & get to work. I'm looking forward to a proper sleep now though!

See you again in October. As ever, you can dress as you feel comfortable, but we'll be coming as Scooby Doo characters!

Our friends in Manchester have got the fabulous Nils & Bianca booked. Nils is cool and funny (& once Liked Darren Smiths photos!) and being in a room with Bianca is like having a shot of pure sunshine given to you.
Love them both.

It's really happening. Tickets for Hep to the Hive 2026 with Nils & Bianca will be available on our website from 12.30pm on Monday 20th April.
