It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the recent loss of 12-year-old Junior Slater.
Junior was known and loved by so many young people, families, friends, and members of our community. His loss has been deeply felt, and our thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved him during this incredibly difficult time.
Over the past few days, we have witnessed the strength, compassion, and kindness that make our community so special. We are incredibly proud of how people have come together to support one another, and proud to be part of a community that truly looks after each other when it matters most.
Today, we have been supporting young people who wanted to make a difference by raising money towards funeral costs. It has been inspiring to see them working so hard, coming up with creative ideas and showing such care and determination to help those around them. Their kindness and generosity have been a powerful reminder of the positive impact young people can have in times of hardship.
It was also incredibly moving to welcome young people into the centre today for support before attending the balloon release this evening. Being able to provide a safe space for them to come together, talk, remember, and support one another was truly special.
As a Youth Zone, we remain committed to supporting our young people and the wider community through this difficult time. Please remember that we are here for anyone who may need support, a listening ear, or simply a safe place to be.
Our hearts are with Juniorβs family, friends, and everyone affected by this loss.
Much love, Moor Nook Youth Zone πππ
