Preston Air Cadets The Air Cadets is a youth organisation for 13-20 year olds, who have the opportunity to fly light air Are you aged 12-17? Then you should join the Air Cadets.

Do you want to learn to fly aircraft like this? Do you want to shoot small bore and full bore rifles? Go rock climbing, mountain biking and kayaking, hiking and camping? Have the chance to compete in sports competitions, attend camps in the UK and abroad and even pick up a few BTECs along the way?

ATHLETES SUCCESS

🏃‍♀️Cumbria & Lancs Wing Athletics Competition 🏃‍♂️

341 Preston cadets and staff did us proud today. A great team effort from everyone who took part and contributed.

3 of our athletes were in great form today, picking up 5 golds and 2 bronze.

🥇🥇🥇 3 gold medals for Sgt Lakeland 400m, shot put & javelin
🥇🥇 2 gold medals for Cpl Scarisbrick discus & 400m
🥉🥉 2 bronze medals for Cpl Kioko high jump & 100m

Hopefully all 3 are available to represent the wing at the North Region event in 3 weeks time.

Roadmarching team, with all the training being undertaken, some of the tread on their boots had worn out.
Thankyou to Michael woods shoe repairs for repairing the boots.
Thankyou also to Feltons military and outdoor clothing store for sorting some kit out.
This preparation is for the team going to Nijmegen
4 days walking 25 miles each day.

During his time there’s been promotions, parades, wing competitions, silver leadership, silver first aid,, MOI, bronze DofE. Sporting success with lots of athletics medals, contributing to the squadrons 2025 successful Athletics team winners trophy.

PRACTICE GOLD EXPEDITION

Well done Sgt Baines & Sgt Lakeland on completing your Gold practise expedition.
As part as a team of 7 cadets. Their route took them into the Yorkshire Dales completing The Yorkshire 3 Peaks, one Peaks a day. Working as a team to navigate, cook and setup camp, with fantastic weather and some iconic views, the team bonded well.
Now time for them to plan their qualifying expedition.
