Many thanks to everyone who braved the storms last night and came and had a good time at our Trafalgar Party.

The Rum locker was much reduced as we had to strike down the 1805Marquee, as well as the Real C***r Bar, otherwise they would’ve been blown over to France. We did keep the main marquee up as it was a heavy duty, commercial-level marquee and attached to the Clubhouse on the leeward side. Unfortunately about 2230, after some dramatic noise and flapping, it met a sad demise. At least most of the rain had blown through by then.

Some of our lads, and friends of the Club, visited the National Memorial Arboretum on Sunday 13th September for the dedication of the Elysium Memorial. This powerful memorial is to remember those serving and Veterans that fell to the Black Dog.
Most of our Military Family know of someone who lost the fight to their own demons and just couldn’t take any more. They may have been loved ones, shipmates or even friends of friends but whereas previously they may just have been statistics on a page, we now have a focal point where we can visit and remember them all.
The RNVMCC asks all our friends to do a ‘buddy check’ on your Oppo. Sometimes a 5-minute phone call may make all a difference. (Thank you to Janie for the photos).

It’s not always about rum, sometimes it’s about a coffee, but yeah… it’s mostly about the rum !

Not getting involved in the politics of it - if you decide to break the speed limit, when you know it’s there, then it’s all on you.

But, if you are ever coming up to our Clubhouse, overlooking Portsmouth, please don’t fall foul of these new cameras.

We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Nirmal "Nims" Purja MBE.

A former Gurkha and Special Boat Service veteran, Nims inspired millions around the world through his extraordinary achievements, courage and determination. His legacy extends far beyond mountaineering, reflecting a lifetime of service, resilience and unwavering commitment.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and former comrades at this incredibly difficult time.

Fair winds and following seas.
