Wessex District Sea Cadets Promoting Sea Cadets in Wessex District, Southern Area and the UK in the traditions and ethos of the Royal Navy.

If you are aged between 10 and 12 you can join as a Junior, 12 to 18 as a Sea Cadet and 13 to 18 as a Royal Marines Cadet, and join 14,000 other Sea Cadets across the UK. Last night I had the pleasure of visiting Parkstone Sea Cadets at their boat station. It was fantastic to get afloat and see the cadets in action, both sailing and rowing.
It was particularly encouraging to witness the excellent cross-unit support, with instructors from neighbouring units coming together to help deliver training and provide opportunities for cadets.
I enjoyed hearing about your many successes over the past few months, as well as the challenges you have faced and overcome. The dedication and enthusiasm shown by both cadets and volunteers was clear to see.
Thank you to all the adult volunteers who made the evening possible and continue to give their time to support young people. Your commitment is greatly appreciated.
I look forward to seeing you all again at future District events

Tonight I had the pleasure of visiting Sea Cadets Warsash and meeting both the cadets and adult volunteers as I begin to learn more about what happens at TS Tormentor.

I was so busy chatting with Lt Lane and other members of the unit that I completely missed the opportunity to take a photo, so I've borrowed one from your page instead!

Thank you all for such a warm welcome and a wonderful evening. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm, dedication, and opportunities available for young people within the unit.

I look forward to seeing you all again at future Wessex District Sea Cadets events.

Wessex District Paddlesport Competition

Yesterday, we held the District Paddlesport Competition at Salisbury Unit, and what a fantastic day it was. With great weather and an excellent turnout from Units across the District, there was plenty of strong competition in all the categories — from 500m and 2k flat water racing to the Cross Stream Challenge.

It was a brilliant event filled with team spirit, smiles, and impressive performances throughout the day.

A huge thank you to all our CFAVs who helped make the event possible — these competitions take a lot of planning and teamwork behind the scenes.

Plus of course, well done to all the Cadets who took part. Wessex District is shaping up to have a strong team heading into the Southern Area Paddlesport Competition on 4th July. 😃
