You can’t see it.
You can’t smell it.
You can’t taste it.

Carbon Monoxide is silent.

A working CO alarm is the only warning you'll get.

Today's Good Chat idea:

"Have you tested your Carbon Monoxide alarm recently?"

It takes seconds. It matters.

Carbon monoxide doesn’t shout.

You can’t see it.
You can’t smell it.

That’s why one of the most important safety steps is… talking about it.

A good chat might be:
“Do you have a CO alarm?”
“When was it last checked?”

No scare stories.
Just a calm conversation that helps people stay safe at home.

If you’ve had — or plan to have — a chat like this, it counts

What’s a *Good Chat*?
It’s not one-sided.
It’s not about fixing somebody else’s problems.

It’s noticing, checking in, and listening. It’s a caring exchange.
Over the next few weeks, we at the Good Neighbours Network are counting good chats - simple conversations that show care, especially about:

• staying safe at home
• support with energy and utilities
• help to live well and independently

If you’ve had a good chat recently, or you have one this week, we’d love to hear about it.
No names. No details. Just the fact that it happened.

Some conversations don’t feel dramatic.

They’re practical.

Like asking:

*“If there was a power cut, would you be OK?”*

That’s often the moment people realise they (or someone they care about) could be on the **Priority Services Register**.

The PSR means energy suppliers know if someone needs extra support — for health, age, disability, or other reasons.

You don’t have to fix anything.

You don’t have to be an expert.

A good chat is often the first step
