Judy Larocque completed the training in Emergency Operations Center (EOC) training in collaboration with the U.S. Southern Command (US SOUTHCOM) Humanitarian Assistance Program at the Office of Disaster Management from Wednesday 10th June to Friday 12th June at the ODM Conference Room in Jimmit.

The training was designed to strengthen capacity in Emergency Operations Center operations and management, the application of the Incident Command System (ICS), and it concluded with a practical exercise.

This was an excellent opportunity to enhance our committee’s disaster preparedness capabilities.

We are pleased to announce that our Deputy Clerk, of the Portsmouth Town Council, Tanasha Toussaint has successfully completed training in Disaster Relief Warehouse (DRW) Training with the Office of Disaster Management in collaboration with the U.S. Southern Command (US SOUTHCOM) Humanitarian Assistance Program from Wednesday June 17th to Friday June 19th 2026 at the Office of Disaster Management in Jimmit.

This training aimed to strengthen the capacity of warehouse and logistics personnel in the effective management of disaster relief warehouses.

The programme covered key areas including logistics fundamentals, the organization and safety of warehouse facilities, basic principles of supply management, Points of Distribution (POD) operations, the use of the Almyta Control System (ACS) Humanitarian warehouse management software, and equipment operations training.

The programme also provided participants with the opportunity to apply and consolidate the skills developed throughout the training.
