Heartfelt condolences to everyone who knew and loved Charlie.

As Chair of Portrush Lifeboats Fundraising, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for Charlie’s incredible support over many years. His dedication, generosity and commitment to fundraising for the RNLI made a real difference, and his contribution to our community will not be forgotten.

We were so fortunate to have Charlie join us on our recent mackerel fishing trips organised by Shared Solace and run by Causeway Boats. We all thoroughly enjoyed his wonderful stories, his knowledge, his humour and the way he brought the coastline and its history to life. He had a real gift for entertaining people and making every experience that little bit more special.

It was a privilege to spend time with him, and we will remember him with great fondness. His stories, warmth and laughter made a lasting impression on all of us.

Thinking of his family, friends and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed.

HAVE YOU GOT ANY LITTLE JAM POTS TO DONATE TO PORTRUSH RNLI?

We’re looking for donations of small, empty, individual-portion jam or marmalade pots for the Betty’s Pots RNLI fundraising initiative — and we’d love your help!
The idea is simple:

Created in 2014 by Betty Frith, who served as Honorary Treasurer of the Hertford RNLI branch for over 20 years, this brilliant idea has spread across lifeboat stations and fundraising branches throughout the UK and Ireland.

Small, recycled jam pots are filled with 5p coins and, once full, returned to an RNLI shop or branch. Those little coins soon add up, helping fund the training and equipment needed by our volunteer lifeboat crews.

The scheme has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the RNLI nationally — proving that every penny really does count!

Can you help Portrush Lifeboat Shop?

If you have any small, empty jam or marmalade pots at home, or run a café, hotel, B&B or other business that uses individual-portion pots, please consider donating them to our shop.

Please drop your clean, empty pots into the Portrush RNLI Shop.

A small pot might seem insignificant, but filled with 5p coins it can make a real difference to our lifesaving work.

We are delighted to open our special raffle to everyone, including our local community. We wanted to make sure that those who are unable to attend our RNLI & REACH Céilí still have the opportunity to win this beautiful limited edition print by the incredibly talented Adrian Margey.

The limited edition print is titled East Strand Dynamism. It measures 20 inches by 20 inches. The frame is 28 inches by 28 inches. Retail price is £395. It can be viewed at Adrian's Art Gallery on Mark Street Portrush.

All proceeds will be shared equally between the RNLI and REACH, supporting the wonderful work of both organisations.

Tickets are just £5 per entry, and you can purchase as many as you wish to increase your chances of winning!

What a brilliant night at Portrush Yacht Club!

Our w**e-tasting fundraiser for the Portrush Lifeboats was a tremendous success!

A huge thank you to Marc Fairley for a superb presentation of some wonderful w**es and rum, delivered with real knowledge, enthusiasm and flair.

We had a fantastic crowd, and the generosity of everyone who came along was absolutely amazing. We don't have the final figures yet, but it looks as though we may have raised close to £1,000 for our local lifeboats! ❤️🚤

And what better way to finish the evening than with a rousing rendition of Sweet Caroline? A room full of people singing their hearts out — the perfect end to a wonderful night!

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success:

Adele Apothecary for donating a wonderful raffle prize.

My fantastic team of volunteers, who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the evening run smoothly. I cannot thank you enough for your time, commitment and enthusiasm.

Every pound raised helps support our volunteer lifeboat crews, who are always ready to answer the call when someone is in trouble at sea.

We will announce a new date for the quiz as soon as possible.
