We held the AGM for your community centre this week - huge thanks to all who attended and make it all possible.

The committee were re-elected;
Chair Matt Howden
Secretary Angela Karadog
Interim Treasurer Michelle Kettley
And committee members; Kerris Williams, Margaret Harvey, Sue Jones, Chris Davey, Helen Gulliford, and welcoming Julie Sheppard.
Also thanks to Hywel Gronow our RCT rep. and Fi our fantastic caretaker! You are all brilliant, thanks so much for volunteering your time and energy to keep the centre running.

Our wonderful Michelle will be leaving us soon so we are in need of a new treasurer - if you are interested please send us a message!

We are also looking for volunteers to help with events and party set-up, if that could be you, please let us know.

Help us plan the annual village show!
Every year we have a produce show where allotment holders and garden growers can showcase their wonky carrots 🥕 and perfect pears 🍐 crafters show off their needle skills 🧶 🧵 🪡 and bakers give the Town Mayor a tough time deciding the best cake 🍰

What categories would you like to see this year!? We’ll add the best answers to the competition list.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to send us ideas and suggestions for Cilfynydd and Norton Bridge Community Centre. We’ve had some fantastic feedback from the local community including:

• Thermal blinds for windows
• Comfy chairs
• Weekly disco
• Better acoustics to make it easier to hear each other
• Evening activities
• Free community courses
• Cooking skills sessions
• Eco related activities
• Triple glazing
• Heating improvements
• Toilet upgrades
• Community trips
• Speed bumps outside the centre
And more…

We have until Friday to submit our funding application and, as this particular funding is focused on energy and sustainability, we are going to apply for:

• LED lighting to help reduce energy bills so more money can go back into the centre and future community ideas

• Improvements to heating within the centre, which we hope will benefit everyone who uses the building

We know there are lots of improvements we would all like to make and, as a volunteer committee, we will continue working hard to keep the centre running, improve it where we can, and keep the community updated along the way. We will let you know how the application goes.

Our AGM is also coming up in the next few weeks. If you’d like to get involved, please message or email us. We could really do with some extra support. It’s usually one meeting a month plus occasional help with events or other activities.

We also currently have a number of hall hire slots available, including Friday evenings. If you know of any groups, classes or organisations looking for a regular venue, please feel free to pass on our details.

• Technology, wellbeing, training or community support
• Small changes that could have a big impact
