Today Paul ran a session at the cold knap, accompanied by Andrew and Nathan. It was as a chilly morning but soon warmed up as the sun rose above the pebbles

Nothing big to report but the lads pulled out plenty of fish on the scratching rigs with a small bass, eels and double shots of whiting and pouting.

Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the trip and can't wait until the next meet up with the group.

It was nice to welcome back under 16s welsh international 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Harvey Ogston-Price after his brilliant performance at the world championships in Italy.

An early start down at Ogmore Deeps this morning. Nathan had the first cast curse with a se ray, whereas I had the rubber hook curse dropping 2 eels, one of which felt like a good fish.

We soldiered on and about half hour before high water - I finally landed one about 5lb followed by a small whiting who went back out. The whiting did his job and helped me capture a slightly bigger eel about 7lb.

The bites dried up after high but we continued to throw baits out in the hope that the fish would come back but it wasn’t to be.

A nice morning to be out and to meet up with Tony Manfield. Good luck tomorrow at the Tide Together Competitions Pro-Am in Aberavon.

We’ve had loads of messages recently from people who want to join us.

Reel Minds is not a club and we do not have membership, we’re a mental health and wellbeing project. We want to get people active, feel part of a community and best of all we’re open to everyone.

Today we took a small group on the long walk down to Monknash beach.

We were straight into the action with Cade landing his first ever ray on the first cast using a pulley baited with mackerel. This was quickly followed up with a small huss for Layton. Things went a bit quiet for a cast or two when James landed his first ever ray (another small eyed).

We continued to baits in the water both short and at distance but we didn’t have a touch until about an hour into the flood when I pulled in a small eyed ray for myself then a small bass on the very next cast. James added a small eel as we were getting ready to leave.

Another great day out making some great memories for the lads - congratulations on your fish.

Gareth did a bit of filming today so we should have a short video in the coming days.

Today was the 10th Reel MInds in Kinmel Bay North Wales, and what a day it was! We had a good catch up got the rods set up and sent some baits out!

Rigs today 2 hook flappers, short pully penals baited with fresh lug and rag!

It didn’t take long for a fish! And then it didn’t stop either! We managed 3 species Bass,Flounder and a dab 18 fish landed with the daughter having her best yet! We even managed a couple of bass for the table! All in all fantastic days fishing! 🎣

Lovely to meet and talk to people walking past!
