2nd Nene Scout Group

2nd Nene (St Peter's) Air Scout Group provides Scouting fun and adventures in the Orton area of Peterborough for over 100 young people.

Our Scout group is based at Skip Clements Scout Headquarters on the Nene Park Academy School Campus. We have 2 Beaver sections, 2 Cubs sections and 2 Scout sections that provide friendship, fun and everyday adventure for over 100 young people. One of each of our beaver and cub sections currently meet outside of the HQ to provide outreach for the wider community.

WOW! WOW! WOW! Yesterday 29 our young people hiked a massive 660km ending at an extremely well attended AGM. We are so absolutely proud of every single one of them! Our Explorer Unit completed a massive 21.2km each. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Feedback from our Squirrels was they could have done a longer hike! OK Squirrels. Challenge accepted.
Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM. They are an essential part of running a charity. Our funding page is still open. 🤗⚜️🥾🥾🥾🧭🧭🧭

Tomorrow is going to be a BIG day as our sections take on a sponsored hike to try and raise money for a trailer to help bring down the cost of future camps! Please give this a little share. We appreciate you all so much! We hope the Scouts and Explorers that are camping tonight have a wonderful evening. 🙏🏼⚜️⛺🏕️🥾🧭

Last weekend, 2nd Nene Scouts from both Challenger and Apollo troops travelled by train, to Arlesey station and then hiked to Boyd scout camp site for a weekend packed full of adventure! They took part in paddle boarding, archery, tomahawks, climbing, racing, first aid, back woods cooking, and soooo much more. As leaders, we are so proud of how they represented 2nd Nene, overcoming fears, physical challenges, pushing themselves, encouraging each other, their exemplary team spirit and showing how they carry themselves with scout values at the heart of everything they do! They supported other teams as well as their own and showed integrity and respect towards all.
Well done, Scouts!

Happy birthday, Sir David Attenborough! You've inspired generations to become champions for nature and planet Earth.

06/05/2026

Today the 2nd Nene Swallowtail Squirrels have been celebrating David Attenborough’s 100th birthday by listening to a story about a chameleon, playing animal themed games and bug hunting out in the yard. "If children grow up not knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it, and if they don't understand it, they won't protect it, and if they don't protect it, who will?" Happy Birthday Sir David. 🎂🥳🎉🎁🎈
