We regret we do not have the capacity to respond individiidually to all applications. This is a 100% volunteer run charity, with passionate volunteers with commitments. Peterborough Cat Rescue helps to re-home stray and unwanted cats. We are a self financing group of people who love cats and are concerned about cat welfare. We believe that all cats should be neutered to prevent the widespread numb

Meet Miss Mandi 🖤

This beautiful fluffy girl is Miss Mandi, aged around 1–2 years old, and she’s ready to find a loving home of her own.

Mandi arrived in foster care a shy and timid girl, but with time, patience and plenty of love, her confidence has really blossomed. She now loves being around her fosterers, happily sitting with them for fuss and even climbing onto a lap for cuddles. Sometimes she can’t quite decide which human deserves her attention most!

She has the loveliest purr and a wonderfully calm, gentle nature. With that gorgeous fluffy coat, regular brushing is a must, but thankfully Mandi is more than happy to enjoy a daily pampering session.

Sudden noises can still make her a little nervous, although she’s getting braver all the time. We think she could live with cat-savvy children aged 8+ and may be happy alongside a calm, friendly cat. She is not suitable for a home with dogs.

And the way to Mandi’s heart? Food! 😻 She’ll make sure you know just how pleased she is when dinner arrives, and she’s particularly partial to Purina Gourmet Mon Petit. This lady clearly has taste!

​Looking to fall in love with a 12-week-old bundle of joy? Meet Georgie and Max! Whether you're searching for a dynamic duo or looking to adopt just one, these sweet siblings are ready for their forever adventures.

​While they love each other's company, they are happy to be adopted together or separately into the right homes!

​Georgie: A fluffy, medium-haired beauty with a big heart and a quirky side! Her favorite trick? Squeezing herself into any suitable glass dish or bowl she can find for a sneaky game of "hide-and-seek." She’s a gentle girl at heart, but don't let the fluff fool you—she loves a good rough-and-tumble play session with her siblings!

​Max: The king of quiet cool! Max is an independent little gentleman who is perfectly content doing his own thing and finding a cozy spot for a quiet snooze. He can be a bit shy when you first meet him, but once he knows you're safe, he’ll saunter right over for chin rubs and fuss strictly on his own terms!

** PROOF OF NEUTERING EXPLAINED **
Due to the high demand of vet appointments during our peak period, we are allowing for some kittens to be adopted on a proof of neutering scheme. This means adopters will be liable for the cost of the second vaccination, neutering and microchipping. This will allow us to rehome kittens who are ready for adoption, sooner.
Microchipping cats is now a legal requirement. Kittens should be neutered around 4 months. You will be provided with a proof of neutering form which we will require your vet to sign and stamp and return to us. If this is not returned to us in the expected time scale, we will contact you.

PLEASE NOTE:

Unfortunately we are unable to reserve cats for holidays etc.

Please only apply if you are in a position to view & adopt within a week should you be successful and selected for a vetting phone call and able to take the cat(s) home after viewing. We are unable to hold a cat once viewed. Please take the time scales we work within into consideration.

Please ensure EVERYONE in the household is in agreement with adopting a cat prior to submitting an application form.

Please ensure you have considered the cost of owning a cat fully and the benefits of cat pet insurance.

Happy International Cat Day!

Today is all about celebrating the wonderful, funny, affectionate, independent and occasionally completely bonkers little characters who make our lives better.

The lap cats. The shy cats. The chatterboxes. The midnight zoomers. The cardboard-box enthusiasts. The ones who demand breakfast five minutes after they've already eaten (the breakfast one feels like me!)

At Peterborough Cat Rescue, we're lucky enough to meet so many incredible cats and kittens, each with their own personality and their own story.

Some arrive confident and ready to take on the world. Others need a little more time, patience and love before they learn that they're safe. But every single one deserves to be loved, respected and given the chance to live a happy life.

So, on International Cat Day, we'd love to see the cats who have stolen your hearts.

Meet Bonded Brothers: Bray & Adam

These two inseparable boys are looking for their forever home – they must be adopted together!

🐱 Bray
Our tabby boy is a chirpy, affectionate lovebug! He adores having his belly rubbed and purrs so loudly he sounds like a little motorbike.

🐈‍⬛ Adam
Our sleek "black panther" is a little more reserved. He prefers affection entirely on his own terms and takes time to trust new people – but he is utterly devoted to his brother. The two are never far apart, playing side-by-side, curling up to sleep together, and chasing laser pens for hours of fun before settling down for cosy naps. Both are huge fans of chicken treats!

• First vaccination complete – second due in 3–4 weeks (adopter’s cost)

"Free" kittens aren't always free...

This video shows just some of the fleas removed from a litter of kittens that recently came into our care.

The infestation was so severe that their gums had turned white from flea-related anaemia. Imagine how uncomfortable, itchy and exhausted these tiny kittens must have been. Without treatment, flea infestations like this can quickly become life-threatening, especially in young kittens.

Sadly, this is a situation we see far too often with kittens advertised as "free to a good home." While many people giving kittens away mean well, they often haven't had the veterinary care they need before leaving their mother.

When you adopt through Peterborough Cat Rescue, every cat and kitten receives the care they deserve before finding a new home, giving them the best possible start in life.

Please think twice before taking a "free" kitten from social media. Instead, choose adoption and help support a rescue that puts the welfare of every cat first.

Every kitten deserves more than just a home, they deserve the best possible start in life.

​Looking to add a little magic to your home? These sweet one-year-old sisters are ready to shine! Star (a gorgeous calico) and Skylar (a stunning tortie) are looking for a calm, loving home together where they can continue to blossom.

​Having led a quiet and sheltered life, they can be a bit shy and may hide at first while they find their footing. But don't let their quiet start fool you—these girls are absolute sweethearts. They are incredibly gentle and don't have a mean bone in their bodies, even when they're feeling a little nervous.

Remember Pixie?

A little while ago, we shared the heartbreaking story of a young cat who was abandoned at the roadside near Wittering.

She was wearing a cat jumper, a baby's nappy, and had a note tied around her neck that simply said:

"I need a home."

When Pixie arrived in our care, she was suffering from severe diarrhoea, a re**al prolapse, flea allergy dermatitis, malnutrition, and painfully engorged teats after recently having kittens. Despite everything she had been through, she never stopped purring.

Today, we wanted to share something much happier...

Look at her now.

I have no idea where July went but I do know thanks to a great bunch of dedicated hard-working volunteers this self-funding small rescue homed 110 cats/kittens and had vet bills of £20,753.84 (fully paid) wow have we really done that, yes, we have!
