Environment Agency told this morning the obnoxious odour across Penrith is NO longer acceptable. Making me feel sick, so god knows the effect on other people ! Admin JT

The situation has become intolerable ! This is a warning !
Residents are no longer prepared to accept the stench of the Penrith 'pong' in homes, gardens, shops etc across the town (from Castletown to New Squares and beyond).
The 'source' is known !
But, neither they (the 'source') or those who are supposed to 'represent' residents are doing anything to 'stop the obnoxious odour pollution
Once again it is left to Fresh AIR for Penrith to 'fight' for peoples' rights....the right to breathe fresh air, not 'pong' air !
More will follow within the next few days unless urgent action is taken now !

There is a post on another Castletown residents page where a lady condems the obnoxious stink we are having to suffer.
One comment names For Farmers as the source.
I hope For Farmers sees his comment and brings defamation action against the man !
WE all know the 'alleged' source ! Others, possibly with business motives in mind, seek to cause distraction with misinformation. Admin JT

There has been a recent increase in odour report complaints to the Environment Agency from the Penrith area. Bit of 'pong' in air this morning !
As result Fresh AIR for Penrith has met with EA for an update. Pleased to say the EA is fully aware of the position and residents' concerns. There has been, and will continue to be, visits to a 'local' plant 'alleged' as the 'source' of many of the odour complaints.
Unlike our 'councillors', Fresh AIR for Penrith is happy to meet/discuss/debate the issue and concerns within the local community, businesses, MP etc. Anyone who would like to meet, please email [email protected]

Why at the start of summer 2026 are residents still reporting 'pong' odour nuisance to the Environment Agency ?
Is the answer apathy and the unwillingness of any person/business/organisation, to take 'responsibility' ?
We ALL know the source !
We ALL know the solution !
So, why are WE still smelling and reporting the Penrith 'pong' ?

4pm Saturday, windows being closed.....the stench of 'pong' outside is overwhelming ! Second day running having to report odour nuisance to the Environment Agency !
This CANNOT be allowed to go on. URGENT action demanded !

WE want action in Penrith, Cumbria !
And in Denholme, Yorkshire !
