OMH 120th Anniversary Concert

Join us for a special evening of music and performance as we celebrate 120 years of Oswestry Memorial Hall.

Curated by Tom Barnes, member of Johns’ Boys Choir, this anniversary concert will showcase the incredible talent of local performers and young people from across our community.

Featuring Tom Barnes and his Vocal Academy, TrebleTones Youth Choir, Drama Forge, Piano-Is-My-Forte and Holy Trinity CE Primary School, the evening promises a varied and uplifting programme for all ages.

This fundraising event will help support the continued work of Oswestry Memorial Hall, ensuring it remains a thriving community space for generations to come.

📣 Calling all Pianists in Oswestry!

The People’s Show Choir is looking for a new pianist for our community choir in Oswestry, launching in September, and we’re looking for a friendly, confident pianist/accompanist to join our team! 🎹

Fridays (term-time only – 36 rehearsals per year)
7:30pm – 9:00pm
Oswestry Memorial Hall, Smithfield Street, Oswestry, SY11 2EG
£45 per rehearsal
Piano/keyboard provided on site
Starts September 2026

We sing uplifting, feel-good music mainly from stage & screen, with the occasional venture into rock and pop. You’ll always receive piano scores in advance. You will be welcomed into a supportive, welcoming environment.

We’re a charity focused on community, belonging and confidence-building, making this position a perfect fit for:

• Piano teachers
• Freelance accompanists
• Retired music teachers
• Anyone who loves playing with a great group of people

There may also be opportunities for optional extra paid work through events and performances.

Meet the Artist... InHisCaravan (Rick Adaway)

This month we're shining a spotlight on Rick Adaway, the creator behind Colours of Community, one of the installations featured in the OMH Moments exhibition.

A photographer, woodworker, handyman and self-confessed dog lover, Rick draws inspiration from the people and places around him. His piece celebrates the vibrant mix of individuals who make our community what it is, capturing the warmth, character and sense of belonging that can be found at OMH.

Rick's work reminds us that community is built from many different stories, experiences and personalities – each adding its own unique colour to the bigger picture.
