Dalby Wood is our main 00 layout for members to run their trains. Here someone is running a decent freight train.

A bit of progress on our 009 layout last night. This was known as Clovelly Beach but, because we want a sandy rather then pebble beach the layout has been renamed Sandymouth Beach. This layout will be one of around 15 layouts running at our open day on Sunday 5th July.

Meanwhile the new 00 project is being built on the small mezzanine. The layout support system is under construction at the moment. Looks like it will be solid, built like a brick ****house!

Today is club day. The clubrooms will be open most of the day. Usually from around 11:00am to 9:00pm. If you want to see what's going on and maybe see whether club membership is for you feel free to pop along - just ring the doorbell when you get there. You may have a bit of a wait while someone extracts themselves from a layout to get to the door.

An 00 T9 turned up last night and stretched its legs on Dalby Wood. 30119 is depicted as being on royal train duty just after nationalisation. What a grand looking loco.

It was club member Alf Fantham's funeral yesterday. Alf had been a member of Warley club for 50 years. He was a big character who would always help when asked, especially if it involved fixing problematic locos. Alf, with his hard work and enthusiasm, had an essential role in enabling Warley Club to put on the Warley National exhibition at the NEC. Alf also played an important role in finding and purchasing the current Warley clubrooms. Warley club will always be thankful to Alf for his contributions over those 50 years. It was therefore fitting that a large number of club members attended Alf's funeral.

You may find there are more silly errors in these posts from now on. Alf was always the first to spot any mistakes and tell me about it, ok I did sometimes find it annoying but he was always right and it was very helpful to have someone checking wot I rote.
