President of The Lions Club of Rutland Allan Grey, presents a Certificate of Appreciation to Oakham Town Mayor Martin Brookes for his amazing fundraising on our behalf, over £1,600 Mayor year to date.

A big thank you to Oakham Town Mayor Martin Brookes, raising funds in support of his chosen charity, The Lions Club of Rutland CIO, from the entrance to Tesco on Saturday 11th July, many thanks Martin.

Members of The Lions Club of Rutland CIO recently took on the task of rescuing and clearing the somewhat overgrown private garden of the Karen Ball palliative care suite at Rutland Memorial Hospital, exposing some aged patio paving, two dirty benches and a small statuette, and making way for some future planting.

This was then followed by Marc Smith from Exteriors jet washing and resanding the area as a good will gesture to the hospital, a great example of Lions and local volunteers working together, serving their local community in a time of need.

Casterton College selected student Harvey Searle as their winner of the Lions Club of Rutland Community Service Award 2026, for his tireless work on reducing waste in his local community, as well as in and around the college.

Harvey who wins a small monetary prize for himself, chose the Woodgreen Animal Charity to receive a £200 donation from the Lions club. Harvey is seen here receiving the cheque from Lions President Allan Grey.
