โ„๏ธ Grief can feel colder in winter.

When the days grow shorter and the nights stretch
on, loss can echo a little louder.
The world slows down โ€” and sometimes, so do we.

If youโ€™re grieving this winter, please know: you are
not alone.

Wrap yourself in warmth wherever you can find it โ€” in memories, in kindness, in the quiet comfort of others who understand.

Itโ€™s okay to rest. Itโ€™s okay to miss them.
And itโ€™s okay to look for small lights in the dark. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
Weโ€™re here, walking beside you through every season.

Autumn has a way of stirring up grief. The changing light, the falling leaves, the quiet evenings โ€” they remind us of who and what is missing. ๐Ÿ‚
If this season feels heavy, youโ€™re not alone.

Grief moves with us, sometimes sharp, sometimes soft, always part of love. Be gentle with yourself as the days grow shorter. Itโ€™s okay to miss, to ache, to remember. ๐Ÿค

Summer can be especially hard when youโ€™re grieving. While the world around you is full of sunshine, holidays, and laughter, your inner world might feel heavy, quiet, or out of sync. The longer days can stretch the silence, and the absence of someone you love might feel even louder.

Barbecues, beach trips, family gatherings โ€” these moments can bring unexpected waves of sadness or loneliness. If you're feeling this way, know that youโ€™re not alone. Itโ€™s okay to protect your peace. This summer, give yourself permission to feel whatever you feel.

If you think of talking to someone would be of benefit, The bereavement Help Point may be able to help you. Our sessions are held weekly in Oakham at the Library between 2-4pm, and in Uppingham at The Falcon Hotel between 3-5pm. We would love to see you there to offer some help and support to you.

Literature and Grief:
Literature has long been a source of comfort and insight for those experiencing grief.
Books, poetry, and essays on loss and bereavement can offer solace, understanding, and a sense of connection.
Through the written word, we can explore our emotions, find validation, and discover new ways to cope.

Literature can also serve as a reminder that we are not alone in our experiences, providing a shared human connection. Whether fictional or drawn from real life, we find reflections of our own struggles.

If you or someone you know would like some support with human connection, The
Bereavement Help Point may be able to help you.

Sessions are held weekly in Oakham at the Library between 2-4pm, and in Uppingham at
The Falcon Hotel between 3-5pm. Weโ€™d love to see you there to offer some help and to
support you.
