Cedarwood Trust Cedarwood is a community development charity that provides a range of community based services across the North East.

Including the Cedarwood Hub, offering social groups, educational courses, early years facilities and a low-cost community supermarket. The charity operates from the Cedarwood Community Hub on the Meadow Well Estate and across North Tyneside. Providing facilities and services for the relief of poverty, and the promotion of health and well-being and life-chances, through information, pastoral support, education, training, and leisure-time activities in the interests of social welfare.

I grew up in Meadow Well, and I find it frustrating hearing people talk about it like it’s all doom and gloom. That wasn’t my experience.

I grew up calling all of my Mam’s friends and even our neighbours “Auntie” this and “Auntie” that. We’d sit out the front every day, having cuppas across gardens and chatting for hours. My experience was completely different.

Yes, there are downsides, but for me, the positives have always outweighed the negatives.

What I know is a community that looks after each other. People who will always lend a hand when it’s needed. People have a lot to say about North Shields and Meadow Well, and I’ll always passionately disagree with those who only focus on the bad.

That’s why working at Cedarwood means so much to me. I get to support the same community that helped shape who I am. 💛

Come along to our FREE Baby and Young Children First Aid Awareness Course, hosted by All Wheel Drive North East, and learn simple, practical skills that could make all the difference when it matters most.

This friendly, easy-to-understand session is ideal for parents, grandparents, carers and anyone who looks after little ones. No previous first aid experience is needed.

Early Years have been having so much fun in Mini Movers group! The classes led by Active North Tyneside have now finished, but we'll continue to run our own Mini Movers classes with Shelley, our Early Years Practioner at the same time, 11:30am till 12:30pm on Mondays.
