Don't forget, All Wheel Drive Response North East are running a free Bonfire Night First Aid Special tomorrow night.

The session will cover practical first aid for burns, scalds and firework injuries, including what to do if clothing catches fire, smoke inhalation, eye injuries and when to call 999.

No previous first aid experience is needed.

Friday 30th October 2026
7:00pm till 9:00pm. Doors open from 6:30pm
Cedarwood Centre, Avon Avenue, North Shields, NE29 7QT

The session is completely free, but places are limited and booking is required.

The Kit Hub is available at Cedarwood today from 10:00am till 11:00am. If you're after some sportswear/activewear, pop in and have a peruse! It's all FREE to take what you need.

Operated by Active North Tyneside, it offers pre-loved clothing for sports and activities to take away FREE, and for those who have spare kit that's no longer needed, a place to drop it off and avoid chucking it in the bin.

Our Reverse Advent Calendar is a fun way to support Cedarwood’s Nourish Store. Collect an item each day and build up a box of food and everyday essentials to donate.

You can join in on your own, with family and friends, or get your workplace involved! 🎁

Prefer to skip the calendar and simply make a donation? That’s absolutely welcome too — you don’t need to collect all 25 items to help.

Our stock is going quickly as we head towards Christmas, and we’re currently particularly low on **soup and rice**. If you’re able to add a little extra to your shopping, we’d really appreciate it.

Bonfire Night can be noisy and unpredictable, so we’re opening Cedarwood straight after school to give children a calm, safe place indoors.

Join us for our Stay In and Stay Safe After‑School Bonfire Night Club on Thursday 5th November, 3.30pm till 5pm.

We’ll have:
✨ Biscuit sparkler decorating
🎨 Drawing & colouring
🧩 Lego & board games
🤸 Soft play
💛 A quiet space for anyone who needs it
☕ Free drinks & snacks for children and parents

This session is for children aged 4–11, and parents must stay.

Free Personal Assistant (PA) training in North Tyneside, delivered by Disability North.

A Personal Assistant supports a disabled person to live the life they choose, with greater choice, control and independence. The role can be incredibly varied because it is shaped around the individual: it might involve practical support at home, getting out and about, work, study, hobbies or being part of the community.

The course works particularly well when we have a mixture of existing PAs and people who are simply curious about the role in the room together.

More than 700 people have completed the course to date, with 100% positive feedback.
