📣 Youth Voice AND 📣

Youth Voice AND had the pleasure of visiting Ballyhome Outdoor Learning Centre in Portrush for a 3-day residential to further our work in pursuing our campaigns on promoting sustainable fashion and healthy relationships 💡

During our stay, we got to grow closer and bond as a group by participating in a game of “Traitors”, going on a beach walk, dressing up for Halloween 🎃 and most importantly, researching the causes we want to develop into proper action plans that reflect our true passions for change in our local community. While these campaigns allow us to gain an OCN qualification, our priorities lie in truly achieving real change for the future of our community 🤝

Despite falling victim to the traitors deceit, a lot of fun was had, productive work was done, and we cannot wait to let everyone know the direction our campaigns will take! 🌟

🌟Newtownards Horizons🌟

What a way to wrap up our Horizons programme!! 🥳

We have had a lovely last couple of nights with our Horizons group, enjoying a celebratory meal with our friends from Lisburn and Castlereagh South groups!🍲🍴
Then tonight, we got to celebrate our young people and their achievements at the Horizons 2026 graduation! 🎓🎉 Well done to every single young person that graduated from Horizons tonight!!👏

This group of young people have worked hard for the past 18 months, participating in residentials, completing an OCN and vocational training as well as raising money for Assisi through their social action and social enterprise projects! 🏕️🇫🇷🛶

Lesley-Ann and I couldn't be more proud of you all, your dedication and positivity, how you all got stuck in at every stage and made the most of your Horizons experience! You are an absolutely fantastic group of young people and we had the best craic working with you!!
We hope you hold onto the friendships and memories you have made along the way, that you are proud of yourselves for giving 💯 in every module and we can't wait to see what's next for you all!
Well done!
👏🌅

📣Youth Voice AND 📣

Fashion, Fun & Upcycling!! 👗🧥🛍️

What a brilliant day for our Youth Voice members! 🙌

On Saturday, our young people teamed up with ANDBC’s Over 50s Council and were delighted to welcome our partner group from Blanchardstown, Fingal for the next stage of our exciting fashion and upcycling project 🤝

After some initial introductions, both groups shared their ideas and inspiration for the fashion designs they’re hoping to bring to life ✏️👚

They all then headed into Newtownards town centre and explored some of the local charity shops, searching for those hidden gems that could be transformed, redesigned and given a whole new lease of life for our upcoming fashion show👗👞👒

We all went back to Ards Blair Mayne for lunch together and to share some of their ideas about how they could transform the pieces they picked up ♻️

We finished the day with a group quiz 💡Before saying goodbye to our friends from Fingal! 👋

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and helped make the day such a success 🙌🏻

We are already looking forward to our next meet-up and can’t wait to see what this project has in store! ✨️
