🏅 SUMMER JAM CELEBRATIONS 🏅

To wrap up our amazing Summer Jam, we took time to celebrate everything our brilliant Squirrels have achieved this Scouting year, and wow, what a year it’s been! 🐿️

As the youngest section in Scouts, our Squirrels are just beginning their Scouting adventure, and they have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity and excitement.

Over the past year, we’ve enjoyed visits to the soft play area, the duck pond, the park and The Ark Farm, welcomed a special visit from Santa, and had great fun with Party Animals NI. We also enjoyed our cinema night fundraiser, got creative making slime with Makes and Bakes, and learned new football skills with Kickabout Kids.

Throughout all these adventures, our Squirrels have worked hard, made new friends, grown in confidence and earned lots of badges along the way. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved this year.

A huge thank you to all our parents for their continued support and to our amazing leaders who give their time and energy to make these opportunities possible.

Well done to all our Squirrels on a fantastic year. We can’t wait to see what adventures next year brings! 👏🏅

☀️ SUMMER JAM ☀️

On Sunday, the Squirrels had an amazing time joining the rest of the 1st Ards Scout family for our annual Summer Jam!

We kicked off the day with Eurekaseekers taking part in three exciting science experiments. We made elephant toothpaste and then headed outside to build and launch our own rockets high into the air!

Just before lunch, everyone enjoyed racing around the bouncy castle obstacle course. It was so much fun that even the leaders couldn’t resist joining in!

To finish off a fantastic day, we all enjoyed a well-earned ice cream.

It was a day full of laughter, energy, adventure, and wonderful memories. We’re already counting down to the next Summer Jam!

🐖🐏 ARK FARM ADVENTURE! 🐏🐖

Last night at Squirrels, we had an amazing trip to Ark Farm and what a fantastic evening it was! 🌟

Our adventure began with a tractor ride down to the Fairytale Forest, where we explored the Dragon’s Den playground and stopped to see the incredible dinosaurs at Jurassic Ark! 🦖🐉

On our way back to the farmyard, we were lucky enough to see some adorable baby piglets. 🐷💕 We then visited Ally in Pets Corner, where we met some very cute animals, including a guinea pig, rabbit, and a baby chick that was only 4 days old! 🐹🐰🐥

Next, we headed into the paddock to meet the friendly goats, Sven the reindeer, and Coco and Rusty the alpacas. 🦙🦌🐐

Our animal encounters continued in the reptile house, where we saw giant snakes and fascinating lizards. We also met Shelly the tortoise and enjoyed watching her stroll around while feeling the unique texture of her shell. 🐢🐍

To finish off a wonderful evening, we had the special opportunity to bottle-feed milk to the lambs – a perfect end to a fun-filled visit! 🍼🐑❤️

A huge thank you to The Ark Open Farm for such a memorable experience. We all had an incredible time and made lots of wonderful memories! 🌟

🌞SUMMER🌞

Last week at Squirrels, we had lots of summer fun playing with all our exciting summer toys and taking part in a super fun obstacle course! 😃☀️

We split into two teams – 🔵 Blue Team and 🔴 Red Team – and our fantastic Young Leaders, Ben and Jamie, were our team captains for the evening!

The teams had a go at:

🌈 Playing Twister
🐻 Crawling through a tunnel
🎾 Balancing a ball on a bat
⭕ Throwing hoops
🦘 Skipping rope
🎯 Throwing bean bags at the target
🪨 Walking across stepping stones
🏒 Dribbling a puck around the cones
🏀 Scoring basketball hoops

Everyone did an amazing job, tried their best, and had lots of smiles and giggles along the way! 😊 We loved cheering our friends on and having fun together.

What a fantastic summer-themed evening! 🌞

🐠 UNDER THE SEA 🐠

This week at Squirrels our theme was Under the Sea! 🌊🐟

We made lovely fish pictures and under-the-sea themed magnets using lots of bright colours and creativity. 🎨✨

In the hall, we got into teams and went fishing in our pond filled with colourful fish and sea creatures. Everyone had lots of fun working together and seeing what they could catch! 🎣🐠

We finished the evening playing with the parachute and creating big ocean waves together. 🌊😁

Another fun-filled evening at Squirrels! 💙
