Tonight Mayfield Youth Clubs
MYPAL group and Cliftonville Community Centre youth members came together as part of Shared Agenda for Peace, a Good Relations programme delivered in partnership with Corrymeela.

The session got everyone talking, with activities challenging stereotypes and assumptions around homelessness. An Agree or Disagree activity gave the young people the chance to share their views, hear different opinions and see things from another perspective.

They also got stuck into their social action project by launching a Shoebox Appeal in support of The People’s Kitchen. The group worked together to design posters and flyers to get the word out, encourage donations and let the wider community know how they can get involved.

A brilliant start to the programme, bringing young people from different communities together, building friendships, breaking down barriers and showing how we can all play our part in making a difference.

Massive well done to all the young people and staff involved! 👏🙌🏻

A fantastic afternoon at Stormont with the Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland, now known as the Lloyds bank Foundationfor Northern Ireland , representing Mayfield Village Hall and celebrating the brilliant work that has taken place with our young people over the past year!

A massive thank you to the Foundation for funding the Mayfield Youth Art Project, delivered by Happy Days Arts.

Over the past year, we have seen first-hand the difference this project has made. From building confidence and developing creative skills to encouraging friendships, teamwork and self-expression, the impact on both the young people and staff has been fantastic.

Thank you to everyone at the Foundation for making it all possible!

Community Notice

It has been brought to our attention that there have been some incidents of anti-social behaviour over the Halloween break, including reports of alcohol and nitrous oxide canisters being used. These have also been reported being used in the new Mayfield Park.

We would ask parents to please have a chat with their young person about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, peer pressure and the consequences of getting involved in these activities.

Please also be mindful of what your young person is posting and sharing on social media, as videos and photographs can have consequences beyond what they may realise.

Our main priority is the safety and wellbeing of our young people and the wider community. We appreciate your support in reinforcing this message at home.
