This society has been in being since 1914 (Centenary next year) and has been running almost continuously since 1922 although it use to be called the -Newton Abbot Operatic Society- until the early 1960's
We have about 40 senior members and also about 40 Junior members who belong to our Junior group called NEWTS.

Before we do, we want to say a sincere thank you to everyone who auditioned for Dear Evan Hansen.

This is a show that asks a lot of its performers, and we were incredibly grateful to see so many people embrace its heart, its vulnerability, and its story. The thought, preparation, and commitment that went into the auditions made the casting process both exciting and incredibly challenging.

We're so proud of the company we've assembled and can't wait to start bringing this beautiful show to life together. ✨

Last night, we attended the NODA South West Awards Ceremony — a wonderful evening held at Sandy Park and filled with incredible theatre societies from across the 17 districts of the South West. ✨

🏆We are absolutely thrilled that Anything Goes won the NODA South West Award for Best Company Movement & Dance!

This is an incredible achievement and a wonderful recognition for our society. Huge congratulations to our amazing cast and production team for all their hard work, dedication, and talent.

A very special mention goes to our choreographer, Sara Roche, whose incredible vision and creativity brought the company movement and dance to life so brilliantly on stage.

We would also like to thank our NODA representative, Iain Douglas, for the nomination and continued support.

And finally, congratulations to all the other nominees, and especially our friends at Dawlish Musical Theatre Company and Shaldon, who also celebrated award wins at last night’s ceremony.

What a fantastic evening celebrating amateur theatre at its very best! 🎭

The things that matter most to us are:
- Strong Vocals.
- Real Commitment.
- Willingness to tell Evan’s story authentically.

Because the heart of this role isn’t perfection.It’s vulnerability. Growth. Connection. Finding yourself in moments where you feel lost.

We’re looking for someone who can tell this story with honesty and heart!

So if even a small part of you is thinking about going for it, take the chance. ✨ We’d love to see what you can bring.

At NADMCS, we are committed to inclusive casting and welcome performers of all backgrounds and identities. We are particularly looking for performers who can authentically portray teenage–young adult roles on stage.

Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this week’s Singing Audition Workshop for Dear Evan Hansen.

We have rescheduled this week’s singing workshop to take place Sunday 17 May, 6pm at Green Rooms, Newton Abbot.

The singing workshop on Monday 18 May, 7.30pm at Green Rooms will also go ahead as planned.

To assist you in preparing, I have attached information on how to access the rehearsal tracks from the MTI streaming player.

What a magical journey it has been! 🍫✨
Our production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has officially come to a close, and we could not be prouder of what was achieved by NEWTS. Performing to sell-out audiences and receiving standing ovations night after night, this show truly took audiences on a journey of pure imagination. 🌟

This production was only possible because of the incredible dedication, creativity, and teamwork of so many people. A huge thank you to our amazing cast, backstage crew, set design team, costume team, props team, creative team, chaperones, front of house volunteers, and our brilliant sound and lighting technicians. Every single person played a part in bringing this magical world to life.

To our audiences, thank you for your support, energy, and enthusiasm throughout the run. Your reactions, applause, and standing ovations meant the world to us.

And finally, congratulations to our talented cast, who poured their hearts into every performance and made this production unforgettable. 💜

Pure imagination became reality, and what a sweet success it was! 🍭🎭
