A big big Thank you to everyone of you who came to the Afternoon Social today.
Your attendance helped to raise £105 for Village Hall Funds.
Thanks go to Paula and Jo for making the tea and coffee, washing up etc. To Steve for sorting out the quiz.

Sad News
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Iris Grice.
Iris was one of the previous Trustees of Newport Village Hall.
Many from the Village will know and love Iris as she has touched so many hearts over the years.
When Fred and Peggy Skipsey stepped down in the mid 1990,s Brian and Iris took over as Caretakers and Cleaners. Iris was also Treasurer for many years.
Iris organised weekly money Bingos and Friday night prize Bingos for many years from the 1980,s until the noughties. This involved buying prizes, setting up, selling bingo books and calling.
She was also involved with organising Jumble Sales, the Pensioners Christmas Party and other Fundraising events.
When a committee decision needed making. Iris was famous for saying "I don't know. What do you think?".
Such a polite way to pass the decision to the rest of us.
After she stood down, she supported events for years until I'll health took over.
Iris only stood down as a Trustee in November 2025.
Not only did she help at the Village Hall, Iris was also a well loved Dinner Lady at Newport School for many years.
Iris was also the first scorer for Newport Cricket Club when it formed in 1985 a role she did for a couple of years.
In addition to that, Iris lead a Brownie pack as Brown Owl supported by Dot St Paul for many years.
Such commitment she has shown to the Village and Community over the years.
