Gilberdyke St Stephens Group comprises four sections grouped by age. Squirrels from 4yrs to 6 yrs, Beavers from 6yrs to 8yrs, Cubs from 8yrs to 10.5yrs and Scouts from 10.5yrs to 15yrs. There is a District Explorer Scout group catering for the needs of 15+yrs young people. The aim of the group is to enable all children in the Gilberdyke, Eastrington, Newport, Yokefleet, Broomfleet and North Cave c

atchment areas to be able to join in Scouting Activities and to provide a base from which these activities can be undertaken. There is usually a waiting list to join the group and we encourage you to add your child to our waiting list as soon as possible. Email for a link to our waiting list application form. Gilberdyke Scout Group is part of the Blacktoft Beacon Scout District, more information can be found here: https://www.blacktoftbeacon-scouts.org.uk/

We are always ready to welcome new adult volunteers to the group be it as a Leader, Helper or to help with the running of our building by being an Executive Committee Member. We also welcome help on a “one-off” basis. If you feel you can offer a little of your time to help us provide a valuable resource for the young people of Gilberdyke and the surrounding villages please do not hesitate to contact us! We would be particularly interested in volunteers who can contribute to the running of the group in the following ways:

Cleaning – volunteers for a hour or two each week during term time to help keep the headquarters building looking s**c and span. Fundraising - we have ongoing fund raising efforts coordinated by out Executive Committee. Equipment - we have a lot of camping and other equipment and keeping on top of it all is an ongoing challenge. Volunteers are needed to help with the preparation and maintenance of our camping equipment. Specialist Services - Builders, Electricians, Gas Plumbers and the like are all regular attendees when we need jobs doing. These professional services can cost a lot of money, which in turn has to be fund raised. Donation of TIME from such specialists would be very welcome. Adult Helpers – where would we be without our regular adult helpers at each section meeting? Certainly not in a good place! We always need additional adult help be it on a regular weekly basis to assist with the running of each sections meetings or on a more ad-hoc basis to assist with one off events and activities. If you are interested in volunteering your time to help with any of the above, or feel you can help in ways not mentioned please contact us and let us know. Volunteering is a great way of meeting new people and learning new transferable skills which can improve employment and promotional opporunities! Peter Colley

A former Scout is about to make history. 🚀

Christina Koch, a former Scout from the USA, is part of the crew for Artemis II, NASA’s first crewed Moon mission in more than 50 years—and with the launch set for tomorrow, this moment is officially real.

From campfires to the cosmos, her journey is a powerful reminder of where curiosity, resilience, and a spirit of adventure can lead. 🌍✨

Did you know? Around 60% of NASA astronauts have been involved in Scouting at some point in their lives—proof of the lasting impact of those early experiences.

Wishing Christina and the entire Artemis II crew clear skies and safe travels as they take this giant leap forward.

Thank you young people and parents that attended Remembrance Sunday with Gilberdyke Scout Group. Young people should be very proud of the excellent, respectful behaviour. Thank you to the young people who were brave and took on the additional roles to support the service.
A special thank you to the Methodist Chapel Congregation and Rev. Joseph for making us so welcome and a large part of this important date. The teas, coffees, buns, cakes, biscuits, juice and pop was amazing!

We are looking forwards to seeing everyone tomorrow for Remembrance Sunday. Flags will be flying!
