🕊️ Remembrance Day 2025 🕊️

Today, we pause to remember all those who gave their lives in service — the brave men and women who fought for freedom, peace, and justice.

At ACUCA, we also honour the often-overlooked African and Caribbean soldiers whose courage and sacrifice shaped history. Their stories remind us that unity and resilience can rise even in the darkest times.

As we remember the past, our hearts also turn to those suffering in the present — in Sudan, Congo, and Palestine, where innocent lives continue to be lost to conflict. May our remembrance inspire compassion, peace, and a shared commitment to a better world for all.

✨ Our Black History Month celebration was a day full of creativity, learning and inspiration! 🖍️🎨

Children enjoyed exploring our art and craft tables, making colourful bookmarks, flags, horse masks, and Black History Month colouring pages 🎨🎭🐎

We also had a book corner to spark curious minds and inspire young readers with amazing stories and role models. 📖✨

At our “I Have a Dream” wall, children shared their wonderful dreams for the future — from traveling, peace in the world, and becoming riders to helping others and changing the world. 💭🌍

The day was filled with rhythm and stories thanks to the amazing Sam, who led our djembe drumming and storytelling workshop, bringing African culture and history to life through sound and words. 🪘🎶

It was a beautiful day of creativity, pride and unity — a reminder that every child’s dream matters and that together we keep growing stronger. ❤️💛💚🖤

We were nearly 100 people coming together to celebrate Black History Month — thank you for showing up, sharing stories, and representing the Black community in Newmarket. The African contribution in shaping the racing industry was beautifully demonstrated throughout the event, reminding us of our rich heritage and lasting impact.
