The bells will be rung, either side of the ceremony, for Sam and Olivia’s wedding on Saturday, which begins at 1pm

In preparation, there will also be a short practice on Saturday morning for 20 mins or so

🏃‍♂️🌳 WOODDITTON THREE VILLAGES WALK ROUND 2!🏃‍♂️🌳

☀️SATURDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER☀️

Fancy a bit of exercise in the countryside, some lovely views and a few well-timed pub stops along the way? Then come and join us for another Three Villages Walk! 😎🥾

📅 Saturday 26th September
⏰ Meet at 10am
📍 Outside The Three Blackbirds

We’ll be doing the same route as last time, heading out through the countryside and stopping at:

➡️ The Bull Burrough Green
➡️ The Red Lion Kirtling
➡️ Back to The Three Blackbirds

🧭 IMPORTANT DISTANCE UPDATE!
Despite our previous claims of “roughly 7.5 miles”, we can now confirm that the route is actually closer to 10 miles!🤣

But don’t worry though, it’s a relaxed walk, mostly flat and mainly across footpaths, with no main roads. There’ll be plenty of time to enjoy the countryside and take advantage of the pubs along the way🍻🌳

Bring something for lunch if you’re organised or do what most of us did last time and rely on the pubs! 🍔😂

🏁 We expect to be back at The Three Blackbirds around 4pm

🥵 10 miles sound a bit ambitious? No problem! You can join us for part of the route, or simply turn up at the Blackbirds towards the end and join everyone for a drink. Whatever suits you!

🐕 Everyone is welcome whether you live in the village or not. Children and dogs welcome too!

And after 40+ people turned up last time, we’re hoping for another good turnout 🤗

🙏 If you’re planning to come along, please let us know so we’ve got a vague idea of numbers.

Concentrating the eye, and without the confusion of extraneous surroundings, this picture frame allows you time to ‘stand and stare’ and see the village of Woodditton as an artist might see it

As you stand looking at the view, the village looks back at you similarly framed, so, for a moment, you also become an artwork

This is the latest addition from the WOODDITTON COMMUNITY GROUP and is something we hope everyone will enjoy. It was the inspired idea of our resident artist, Chris Winch, and expertly designed and constructed by Simon Woodward, who turned the concept into reality

Over the coming months the frame will be moved to different locations around the village, each offering a new perspective and another opportunity to pause, appreciate our surroundings and perhaps capture a photograph of your own

If you do take a photograph, please scan the QR code and upload it to our COMMUNITY GALLERY for everyone to enjoy

We hope this simple idea encourages us all, every now and then, to do exactly what the poem suggests… stop, stand and stare

🌿Some exciting news for our Village!🌿

The WOODDITTON COMMUNITY GROUP is delighted to announce that it has successfully secured £999.75 from the East Cambridgeshire Community Fund to help improve and enhance our village. Just 25p shy of the full £1,000 that was up for grabs 👏

💸 The funding will be used to make our village even more attractive, greener and a little kinder to the environment with the purchase of:

🌳 Oak barrel planters
🌱 Edible plants
🍂 Compost
💧 8 water butts
🚿 8 solar-powered water pumps

🙏 Thank you to everyone in the Woodditton Community Group, who continue to give up their time to make Woodditton and Little Ditton a wonderful place to live. These applications take far more time than most people realise, and without volunteers willing to put the effort in, opportunities like this simply pass us by
