Last Wednesday we looked at resilience as a habit of happy people — learning how a mind of patient acceptance helps us face life’s difficulties without becoming discouraged.

This week we’ll be looking at being happy with the happiness and good fortune of others — the Buddhist practice of rejoicing. This simple but powerful habit helps us reduce jealousy, grow a more positive mind, and share in the good around us.

Each class stands alone, so don’t worry if you missed last week — just come along when you can.

This week in class we looked at how essential inner peace is for a happy life. It is easy to believe that our happiness depends on external conditions such as work, relationships, our home or our plans, but we saw how easily this happiness can disappear when our mind becomes unhappy or unsettled. Even in the best circumstances, without inner peace it is difficult to really enjoy anything. By developing a peaceful mind, we give ourselves the best basis for a happier and more meaningful life.
If you missed this week, don’t worry — all the classes stand alone, so you can join whenever you’re free. Next class is at Nettleham Community Hub, Wednesdays 7.30–8.30pm, where we’ll be looking at Building Resilience and exploring how to develop a strong, peaceful mind when life is difficult.

We’re back next Wednesday 15th exploring the Habits of Happy People.
Drawing on Buddhist wisdom, these classes are practical, accessible, and suitable for everyone. Each session includes two guided meditations and a short talk to help us develop peaceful, positive states of mind.

We’ve been a bit quiet on socials this week… we’ve been busy! 😊
We feel very fortunate to have collected the remaining statues from Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre at the recent wonderful weekend course on Faith and Wisdom with Gen-la Dekyong.
Since then we’ve been busy cleaning and preparing the shrine for their arrival ✨
You can be among the first to see them at our course this Saturday: Developing Inner Strength & Resilience at Kadampa Meditation Centre Nottingham. We’d love to see you there 🙏

It was lovely to be back this week and to see so many familiar faces, along with plenty of new ones, at our first meditation classes of the term.

This term we’re looking at developing a positive, peaceful mind through developing a mind of loving kindness — practical methods to help bring more peace and balance into daily life.

Each class stands alone, so if you missed the first week, you’re very welcome to join at any time.
