Weβre continuing our campaign by celebrating volunteers whose dedication is leaving a lasting impact on Scouting and the young people it supports.
Each of these individuals has been recognised for the commitment, passion, and difference they make across our movement every single day.
π Wayne
π¬ "I would like to nominate Wayne in recognition of his exceptional commitment and dedication to supporting volunteers across the district. Wayne has travelled extensively across the county to help our volunteers work towards gaining their permits, generously giving up many weekends to provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support. His commitment has made a significant difference to so many people and has helped strengthen Scouting throughout our district.
What makes Wayne's contribution even more remarkable is that this work has been undertaken alongside his many other Scouting responsibilities, not instead of them. Despite an already demanding schedule, he continues to make time for others, always willing to go the extra mile to help volunteers succeed.
We cannot fully express how thankful and appreciative we are for Wayne's dedication, enthusiasm, and selfless service. His support will have a lasting impact on our volunteers and the young people, making him thoroughly deserving of this nomination."
π Michelle
π¬ "I would like to nominate Michelle in recognition of her outstanding service as Treasurer for our Scout Group. Michelle has consistently gone above and beyond in managing the group's finances with professionalism, accuracy, and dedication. Her careful management of funds has helped ensure that the group can continue to provide valuable opportunities and experiences for our young people.
Beyond the day-to-day financial responsibilities, Michelle is always willing to offer support, advice, and assistance whenever needed. Her reliability, commitment, and positive attitude make her an invaluable member of the Scout Group leadership team. The time and effort she gives, often behind the scenes, have made a significant difference to the success and sustainability of the group.
Michelle's dedication and service are greatly appreciated by volunteers, parents, and young people alike."
π Adam
π¬ "I cannot begin to put into words how important Adam has been in my daughter's life. She joined Scouts as a tiny 7 year old and now, 12 years later, she is a budding leader herself. This is down to the efforts of the whole group, but Adam is the person who has challenged, pushed and enabled her to do amazing things. Time after time, he knew what she was capable of and worked his socks off to ensure she met her potential. Adam ignited a life-long passion for kayaking in her, so much so that it had a bearing on her university choice.
Of particular importance to us as parents was the effort he made during COVID. She had a really difficult time with an elderly grandma becoming quite unwell and then her father being taken into hospital. Thankfully both were well in the end, but it made her very anxious about doing her usual clubs. She stopped doing all her usual activities, except for Scouts. Even when lockdown came, Scouts continued, weekly, on Zoom. Toasting marshmallows over gel fires at home, virtual campfire, was a particular highlight. This contact enabled her to pick up her social activities soon after Covid.
While I know the effort that went into these sessions, I cannot thank Adam highly enough for just being there. Since then, Adam has continued to be such a positive influence in her life. We can't thank him enough."
π Jacob
π¬ "Jacob consistently goes above and beyond in every role he undertakes, but I particularly want to recognise the incredible work he has put into his Poacher role. He has far exceeded what would reasonably be expected of him, giving huge amounts of time, energy and commitment to make sure things are done properly and to a high standard.
Through his work, people will be safer, feel more comfortable, and most importantly, feel like they belong. He has fully embraced the values and culture we are trying to create and has approached everything with professionalism, care and genuine passion.
Jacobβs contribution often happens quietly behind the scenes, but the positive impact of his work will be felt by many people. He is thoroughly deserving of recognition and a well earned brew."
π¬ "Jacob has been a part of the County Team for the past five years, serving in a variety of roles, including Deputy County Youth Lead, Transformation Lead, and now Support Team Lead. In every position he has held, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Scouting, consistently giving his time, energy, and enthusiasm to support others and help deliver the best possible experiences for young people and volunteers alike.
Throughout this time, he has played a key role in the planning and delivery of numerous county events, including LINCUB, Little Lincs, and Lincs Fest. Through his dedication and extensive knowledge, he has become a trusted and respected figure across the county. Many volunteers regularly seek his advice and guidance, knowing they can rely on his experience and thoughtful approach. He continues to bring this same passion and expertise to his current role with Poacher.
In parallel with his local and county commitments, Jacob has also contributed nationally. He has been involved with the 14β18 programme redesign team, served with the National Youth Forum team, and now supports Scouting through national events work. He has also taken his skills abroad as part of the Roverway team in Norway. His willingness to contribute wherever he can, whether locally, county-wide, nationally, or internationally, reflects his deep commitment to the movement and its future.

Despite the significant demands of these roles, Jacob has also achieved both his King's Scout Award and Explorer Belt, demonstrating his personal commitment to challenge, adventure, and self-development. He has embraced every opportunity available to him within Scouting and continues to lead by example.
What stands out most is the sheer amount of time, effort, and care that Jacob invests in Scouting, much of it behind the scenes and often without recognition. In less than six years as an adult volunteer, he has made a remarkable contribution across multiple levels of the organisation while continuing to support young people on a weekly basis. His dedication, leadership, and service embody the very best of Scouting, and the positive impact he has had on countless young people and volunteers is truly deserving of recognition.
There is no doubt that Jacob will continue to give the same passion and commitment in the years ahead, helping even more young people gain Skills for Life and ensuring that Scouting remains a thriving and supportive community for all."
π¬ "Jacob is the future of Scouting - Young, enthusiastic and highly capable. A pleasure to work alongside and demonstrates the values youβd expect in all he does."
A huge congratulations and thank you to Wayne, Michelle, Adam, and Jacob. Your dedication, time, and care are helping shape a stronger future for Scouting and the young people we support. π
We are incredibly lucky to have such an inspiring community of volunteers.
